I definitely would, almost irrespective of cost. He's quality at this level. If we could get him on an Owenesque pay as you play deal, even better.

Yes, assuming his agent doesn't now want to double his wages or something.

A reluctant no from me.

We can't afford to carry injury prone players if we're going to have a small squad. We can pretty much guarantee that Wardy will be out for spells next season and I think to have 2 strikers who will be missing a lot is more than we can afford.

We definitely to replace his pace though

I'm with Coops. His pace and trickery are great. His injury record isnt, and his age is against him. If we got him for next season I'd be pleased but he isn't the whole answer.

Does anyone think he could play with Billy, BTW?

if he'd accept a 1 year deal then certainly yes. You could see yesterday how the game changed when he came on.

Even if we could get 20-25 games from him it would be worth it IMO. One of the current crop with genuine ability with a ball at his feet.

:D

is this a trick question ?

Get him signed ...compaired to sum of the donkeys at BDTBL he's streets ahead.

What will happen:

An overwhelming majority of SUFC fans will request us to offer hima new contract

SUFC ill fail to do so

Camera will sign for another championship team e.g. leicester, cardiff etc.

Camera will score 15 goals and be one of the most talked about players in the CCC for 2010/11.

Ive seen it many times before!

I'd offer him a deal on condition of a full pre-season. If he completes it, we sign him on a one year deal.

He does offer us a little bit of something different and could be our luxury player. Yes, he is susceptible to injuries like Ward but it's a gamble worth taking IMO.

Not for me, his injuries aren't going to improve.

Interesting irrelevant fact. He speaks hardly any English and can't put a sentence together but one thing he can and does regularly is "goal bonus".

I would say yes under the following conditions;

1 - He is prepared to sign a realistic contract and take a pay cut
2 - He can maintain a decent level of fitness

Camara has some great qualities but doesnt score often enough at the moment to demand upwards of 8K+ a week which is what he must be on at a bare minimum. Depends on the circumstances because he isnt getting any younger either.

With Cresswell, Evans, Sharp, Ward and Henderson also in the reckoning I would change the answer to NO if he cant comply with the above.

No, too injury prone and we can't afford another season of chopping and changing constantly.

Yes, if we could get him on a pay as he plays deal (like a couple of others have mentioned above).

when ever he plays i feel he offers something completely different to what weve had this season.

Agreed SB. I wouldn't risk paying out hefty wages on someone who is so injury prone and also prone to disappearing away from home.

The Camara situation is indicative of the problems we've faced this season as a club. Because we have no money, blackie has had to go out and get players that are considered bargains. Yes some of the signings and I'm talking about Camara, Willo and Harper are talented. The problem has been their former clubs have wanted to get shut! They've wanted to get shut not because they are shite, but because they are crocks!

Willo has made 14 starts this season due to injury! Shocking really. I think he is an excellent footballer (played in his strongest position) but he's no good to anyone if he spends two thirds of the season in the treatment room. The same can be applied to Camara and I suppose to a lesser extent Harper. We have contributed to our own downfall in terms of the worst run of injuries I can remember in 37 years of watching them (on and off)

To be fair, Williamson has never had any injury problems before arriving here. That's just been unlucky. And whilst Camara and Harper may be considered a bargain for the price, their wages certainly don't make them a bargain.

I personally (and begrudgingly) wouldn't offer Camara a contract next season. With the suggested budget cuts he'd be taking a large chunk of it, and with his fitness levels deteriorating with age it's probably a good idea to look elsewhere, despite the obvious footballing talent he possesses.

I'd love to have him another year - can't see us being able to afford him tho.

Regards his injuries I'm not sure about his injury record at other clubs but it may be down to not playing competitive football for a while before he signed up and the injuries seem to be recurring injuries (groin/hamstring) which could be down to him being rushed back when not fully fit due to the size of the squad.

As good as he is, we can't afford to be carrying expensive passengers, and that's what Camara will be if his injury problems from this season are replicated.

Evening, first post :)

If it's financially possible i'd like to see him stay

Not only would he benefit the team, but players like camara, wardy and williamson will make people want to come and watch united. I know i get excited when i see these on the team sheet!

Welcome on board basegreen blade!

The problem with the the 3 you've just mentioned above, is that yes people might want to go and see them, but the trouble is it wont be very often, as they're always injured! :(:(

You still just dont get it do you ?

Pompey coming down - bust
Burnley coming Down - never had anyy money
Hull coming down - Bust
Cardiff - If not promoted - Bust
Forest - If not promoted - Dubious if they have any big funds left
Leicester - If not promoted - Dubious if they have any big funds left
Swansea - If not promoted - Dubious if they have any big funds left
Blackpool - dont have any money
Middlesborough - not sure
Reading - doubt it
The rest - no way
Norwich - may splash a bit of cash, but think they will stick mainly with what they've got
Leeds - still a selling club
Millwall - no real money

Henri , will be happy to pick- up any contract.

Most clubs will be off-loading the top earners, and those players not picked-up by Premiership teams will struggle to get a contract.

Whether by design or not , we will be in aposition to pick-up a lot of decent players who will all be scrambling to get picked-up by anyone, on lower wages.
With the 14 available slots, this is a great time to re-shape our whole team, and the likes of Camara, will fit in to suit us.

I agree with this last part to some extent. There will be some surprises in the summer and the type of players coming to the lane will be above expection. The money isnt there anymore to get a big contract in the CCC. Players will have to make do or stay unemployed.
