It’s a fair point but we wouldn’t be able to get a player of that quality by buying them. So we either play a player of lower quality or develop someone else’s player. I’m not sure there’s a right answer (other than changing the loan market to stop bigger clubs stockpiling players).

I would like to see Verrips given a go now unless we are guaranteed to get Deano back next season which seems unlikely. At least that way we will know if he's good enough and can bed in if not gives us time to find a replacement.
