I'm happier he took the pay cut and left tbh. If he had really wanted to help the Blades he could have doubled his goals output and halved his suspensions.

Basically saying hes does us a favour by moving on and the poor bloke had to take a paycut to go milwall.

If he was that keen to help why didnt he take a pay cut at the lane and stay to help us get back up?

Anyone else anoid by this comment, or am I just in one of those moods!?

sorry but we agreed to pay him that much, knowing his disciplinary record and fitness issues. he could well have agreed to a 6k deal here - bet we didnt offer him one though

Good, because he isn't worth it.

he may have been in division three.... i think we will suddenly start getting the decisions as we'll suddenly be a big fish in a little pond. i'm not that arsed as long as we replace him... lets hope his replacement 'isnt already at the club' like BT.

Not sure Pup. It seems many "big clubs" get stuck in the division for longer than they expected - so the idea that they get favourable treatment is dubious. Anyway, I think £6K would easily pay for a hungry young up and comer who plays more that a third of the matches. Given that Hendo was on almost 3 times that, we've really done well to get rid.

to be fair to him - he's not saying anything to try and make it seem he's doing us a favour, and in fact the little bit of honesty and accountability he shows in that quote is quite refreshing in comparison to the denial shown by some of our staff, managers and other players last year...

"I hold myself personally responsible for United's relegation because I didn't play enough games or score enough goals to help keep them up. I would have been happy to stay in Sheffield but, equally, I didn't want to be a drain on their finances."

Equally, he openly admits to all of our (fans) "quibbles" about him - not playing or scoring enough - and has left for a new club and resisted the temptation to try and take a dig, and even admits he would have happily stayed.

In all honesty I was sooooo happy when i heard we'd got rid, didn't like him as a player, and was disgusted at the fee and wages we blew on him (clubs fault not his though!), but to be fair to the lad, he's spoken with quite a bit of dignety and proffessionalism (shame the performances weren't likewise but hey!)...

Anyway, onwards and (hopefully) upwards!!

UTB!
