Rising to the top with the Blades is what he means, stop spreading despondency, your not the only one admitted, Lets get Hendo bought, even at 60m, speculate to accumulate and I'm not throwing the baby out with the bathwater, it's so important to keep this group together. I have great faith the CWAK set up will bring rewards, it's time to take that one Great step other clubs have taken and proffered by. As supporters we have to show our faith and commitment, even if it seems OTT at times, so as CWAK have a strong foundation to achieve there no doubted ambition. Lets make it at BDTBL and not at another club.
Apologies for jumping on your post, nothing personal, I assure you.

TRANSFERMARKT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The club & Tufty have a wage structure that they want to maintain,
look at what happened to Duffy, and has been suggested at with Lundstram
I would love to keep Lundstram, I would love to keep Hendo,
But I'll trust that Tufty will not let Lundstram/Henderson or Manure to hold the club to ransom

It's not just the 60 m , it's the wages, and if Manure up his supposed salary & we have to up our contribution for a player that is not ours, then let him find somewhere else

Nope. No way...never.

A goalkeeper though crucial cannot have a similar influence on a game as an outfield player.
I know they are critical, but for £10-£20m pounds you could get a good enough keeper to succeed if you spent the other £40m on the outfield players needed to make you a better team outfield.
If I was to spend £60m on one player for United it would be a striker, no doubt about it

£30m rising if he makes England team etc, very very good keeper, fantastic attitude but still got a lot of learning in front of him, needs to be better with his kicking

Yes. All clubs will be hit. Lower transfer fees all round. Some clubs will be hit harder as tickets contribute more of their income than others.

I think in comparison to most clubs in England and Europe, we'll be pretty much ok as long as the TV money keeps coming in. A Man U or Real Madrid could obviously sign our best players, but I think we're more likely to be able to take advantage of clubs in dire financial situations in the Football League and Europe. We could hopefully pick up some bargains e.g. the Fenerbahce keeper Altay Bayindir.

There's usually some bullshit conspires against us.

As it was, Spurs' poor planning left them without Kane and Son. Chelsea were without Abraham and Man U without Rashford.

As it is, all will have them back and all will be playing against us and we might have to do without one of our players of the year in Henderson. Though it would make Man U look absolute pony.

Though it does make you wonder if United then had a case to request to transfer in a keeper. Henderson was borrowed on a season long loan with no callback. If circumstances allow for us to be one keeper light, then surely cucumstances should permit a replacement?

I see your point but its worth taking into consideration his age, his ability mixed with potential longevity and return on investment. I know this is all hypothetical and I didnt feel id ever see the day when we anywhere linked to a conversation about such a fee for a GK, Buffon is a prime example Juve paid £32m in 2001 for a 23 year old that figure would be high now let alone then, but 18 years later he has over 500 apps and 176 caps.

I think fees are going to take a hit because of what we are currently going through, but if they don't and they carry on rising in 5-7 years time how much will he be worth then?

£60m!!?

God no.

Why don't we just back our scouts to find a decent keeper on the way up for a more affordable fee that we can develop ourselves.

Someone remind me how much we spent on; Fleck, Oconell, Basham, Baldock and Stevens combined?

We're not man U. We can't afford to just spend stupid money for the sake of it like paying alexis sanchez 450k a week to score less goals than a player from the clubs academy.

Not sure where this figure is coming from. Only reference to 60m is that being the additional prize money etc. for qualifying for the champions league.

Add Henderson to your list of five players = six players, like you I don't know how much the five players cost, (think Fleck was free). Lets say £120,000 each x five = £600,000. Buy Hendo for £60M + £600,000= £6,600,000 divided by the six players = £1,100,000 each. Hendo for £1,100,000, it's a snip, go on you know it makes sense.
Seriously though, I'm of the mind that it's of the upmost importance to keep together this group of players. Win a trophy, get over that hurdle then the club can strike forwards progressively which would include re assembling the playing staff.

What? 😂

Before we descend into complete desperation, let's see if we continue as we've done the last couple of seasons. If we manage to have a second season in the Prem that's similar to this first one then it will add to Wilder's ability to convince players that they should remain at a club that's going somewhere.....then, of course, there's the question of wages and fees. The club will certainly have to offer more to any player they wish to sign or to existing players coming to the end of their contracts. With success comes a host of issues that cannot be avoided, but no doubt this has already been discussed at Board level, probably more than once I'd imagine. A day of reckoning isn't that far away, so if United wish to hold onto their prize assets they'll have to stump up the readies to levels commensurate with clubs such as Southampton, Burnley, and Crystal Palace, and that's a wild attempt at what we'll have to consider if we wish to progress. I know there's an existing wage structure, but that will have to change. In principle the wage structure is a first rate idea, but the dynamics of becoming a Prem club means that a radical re-think of club policy is unavoidable.

Think you ran out of fingers🤔

Yes "dyslexic old fart", but even so still good value all round. I missed the zero don't let the Blades miss this opportunity whatever the price. Maybe you both don't think the five out field players are worth 10M+.
They’re all priceless mate👍

I believe Henderson's wages are already out of our reach hence the pause before we actually got him back on loan while we waited for Man U to relax their grip on him.

Ahh I get what you were saying now.

Whilst I agree those 5 players are all worth on average over £10m each, that doesn't mean £60m for Henderson is good value for us when you take that in isolation. My point about the other players was just to show you don't have to spend stupid money.
