[Guisboro Blade]

Long time reader of this forum but first post. As my name suggests I am not a local (just outside Middlesbrough) and use this forum to keep up with what is happening with the Blades.

Started going to the Lane in 1987 when my Dad took me; the game was against Boro (bizarre!!). I don't remember much about the game but I was hooked!! This was in the the 2nd half of that season so was the start of the Bassett era.

Me & my Dad went regularly to home games for a few seasons after the Boro game and became ST holders in around 1990.

In my time following the Blades I've seen 4 relegations (although don't really remember the first in 87), 3 promotions, 2 POF defeats (missed Palace in 97) & 3 FA Cup Semi Final defeats and we are now back in the 3rd tier like we were back in 87 when I started going

Strangely looking forward to next season and seeing some new grounds and hopefully some terracing.
