The club have confirmed that Heckingbottom has signed a long-term contract with the Blades until the summer of 2026.

Stuart McCall also comes into the club as his assistant, having left Blackpool earlier in the day

Am I the only one happy with the news. Hecky did a good job after taking over from Wilder. He gives excellent interviews and is a far better speaker than most managers we’ve had.
He’s not going to have cash to spend so it’s better we have someone who knows the current players and knows the best way for them to play.
He’s done a great job with the youngsters and will probably give some of them a chance.
Give him support, rather than abuse and see how it goes. I bet we finish closer to the top than bottom and hopefully have in place a team to do well next season.
There was no point in having him in a temporary role as he’s contracted to the club anyway. If it doesn’t work out he can be removed. He deserves the chance and the support of everyone.
