He meant it alright. Watch this angle

It has amazed Bert that anyone should question whether or not he meant it.
Villa defenders, the goalkeeper, the crowd and Bert were all expecting another cross as per the first goal ...... but Norwood was a whole lot smarter than that. An excellent goal.

I think the speed of his run up proves he meant it. He saw the gap and went for it.

I was right behind it on the family stand. He did mean it. He curled it beautifully around the wall . And turned to celebrate straight away. Before the whole ground did.

Indeed, I mentioned elsewhere that he was the first man celebrating.

Good angle on that video though, it shows what most of us thought, definitely intentional.

I sit about halfway between where that was recorded and the halfway line in the John Street stand.

It was an excellent position to watch that free kick taken, behind Norwood and with a full view of the goal and defensive line up.

He meant it, terrific goal.

Only thing being, who sits at the match recording events rather than watching and enjoying the moment?

Pleased they did in this case but a bit strange to me, no doubt my age is the problem. :)

On the Westfield corner I said to my pal, someone needs to pass this back 10 yards to Norwood so he can hit it from where he did for the O'Connell goal because from where he was the angle was to shallow to cross it, it was only about 5 yards out from the defensive wall. Keeper left a gap, alsolutely no question at all he saw the gap and went for it. Up there with the Evans volley last year and the Coca Cola kid from a few years back as the best individual goals I've seen at the Lane.

Ollie was back to the centre circle before I knew we’d scored!...

Thought Mrs Doyle off Father Ted was sat next to the cameraman. "Go on...Go on...Go on...Go on...Go on...Go on......."
