Have we had two players with the same name in our squad before?

James Wilson, our new on loan striker from Manchester United and James Wilson our centre half, currently on loan at Walsall. Surely that's a first?

Unfortunately not , under Adkins we had several “Useless Bastards” and they played in the same team !
As ever UTB
Ps not sure why it came on twice !! Pre derby finger excitement!!

Early 1970-72 we had two Alan Woodwards, the obious one, and one that never made the grade after beeing an apprentice for a short while.

I vaguely recollect we had two Fred Smiths around 1952. I think they played together.

I'm sure this is a Silent fact, so he'll confirm in due course. :)

The two James Wilsons are unlikely to play in the same side for us.

In case Silent misses this post, little Fred Smith and big Fred Smith played in the same team frequently, 1951-52.

Ernest 'Nudger' Needham had a nephew Ernest Needham, and they played together for the reserves 1909-10. The nephew played once for the first team, in 1912, 2 years after his uncle's last game.
Wasn't that the first season you started following the Blades :)?

Andy Goram
That reminded me, I've got an England shirt autographed by all the team and back room staff before a game against Belarus, John Goram signed it twice. Totally unrelated but spooky

1/3'rd down on left and 2/3's down on right.
