Not really been going due to work commitments, but it seems we are making stupid defensive areas that are costing us every single game.

Obviously we have a piss poor squad who couldn't score in a brothel, along with many other current problems.

However, had we still got Morgs in the squad organising the back line, do folks think we would still be facing almost certain relegation?

Undoubtedly, we're missing his leadership and organisational skills at the back, especially at set-pieces.

I think we'd definitely be a few points better off.

Maybe we wouldn't concede as often, but Morgs int much of a threat to their defences.......we still wouldn't score.

Kenny-Morgan-Montgomery-Henderson ,the strong spine of the team that should have been built around ,not Simmonsen-Bartley-Montgomery-Evans. A combination of poor management ,poor directorship and poor luck have all combined to bring us to the position we are in.

Chris Morgan is a natural leader, and losing him has been a huge blow. His still is not the player he once was, and his legs had started to go a bit, but what he brought to the back four was leadership, organisation and is still the best defender we've got at the club, and for the most part of his career despite his reputation for being a bit of a thug he has been a superb defender.

Your not wrong about the strong spine Sitwell.

To some extent yes, definately. I'm not saying we would be flying if Morgs had been there, but we would certainly be in with a good chance of staying up. Had Morgs and Hendo both been available I certainly dont think we would be in the bottom three at the moment.

Mistakes were creeping into his game though. Remember that horrible rick at Boro that cost us the game? They were there for the taking, Speed's first game in charge and on TV. Instead we lost and have basically been shit ever since.

But yeah, certainly missed his presence and leadership.

Has losing Morgan cost us this season?

Definitely.

We've haven't been able to field a settled back four since then.

Many of our defeats this season have been by a single goal, which raises the question - "are we really that bad, or just unlucky?". Maybe it would be easier to bear if we'd been thumped.

we haven't fielded the same back four two games running! .. no wonder we are crap at defending set pieces.. loanees are ok for attacking positions where less positional discipline is required.. but you have to own your own back four.. lee dixon once got asked on tv why that arsenal back four was so good.. he replied that george graham had them doing drills four hours a day for years until they were borderline telepathic

With the amount of single goal defeats or draws like against Milwall would we be 8 points better off? I would say yes. The trouble is we have a massive squad for our position and no qualityfor any first team replacement.

Can you picture any of our players being reduced from an image of absolute strength to this.....
