Has CW let too many out and in?

Maybe the process of an overhaul shouldn't have been as big as it was (even if some of the outgoings were shit), we have only 5 players from the last season in the entire squad everyone else is new, and it looks like we'll be bringing more in if CW is to be believed.

Maybe we've just rushed the overhaul and should concentrate on getting this bunch of players working together, sadly though that may come at a cost of finishing mid-table this season.

We needed a clear out, but you're right in regards to Flynn and McEverely, two players with good attitudes who could have been squad players until at least January.

What we shouldn't have done is then follow up the clear out with selling/loaning out our two best players. Now that was criminal.

When bringing in so many new players it's vital you hit the ground running. A poor start will hit their confidence, will also have fans losing faith in a manager as they're 'his' players, manager will then panic, and things will spiral out of control quickly. You then have said manager sacked mid season, new manager comes in and has a load of players on long term contracts he doesn't want. Now where have we seen that happen before????

theres a very strong chance we'll be relegated this season unless we bring 4 quality signings in before the end of the month.

in the words of sunjhi.....this club is a fucking shambles from top to bottom. Ran like a non-league outfit with no clear planning, vision or direction from the boardroom. We don't even have a fully functioning or updated website, can't even get the small things right.

Charlton did the same thing back in 2011, and Bristol City in 2013 but on a more radical scale and with greater success so it can be done. Indeed it was this blueprint that I thought we could follow by appointing Christ Powell/Steve Cotterill but the board thought differently by hiring someone who has never managed in this division.

Of course they need time to gel, but so far its looking like the players we let go are better than the ones we've brought in, McEvelerly and Hussey for starters.

One of them scored on his home debut yesterday, in a division above. He started. But he didn't fit into our bottom of the table team.
Dont think he is a team player. He was unmarked when he scored and his team didnt win

Doesn't really matter whether we think or not, we sold him and I can safely say I haven't seen anyone better join the club this summer thus far. Hence we have gone backwards.

How does this work ? Wilder states in the Star

“Every time we pick up the telephone to call someone, the price goes up in terms of the other club’s valuation and the agent’s valuation. Then, in turn, the player.”

So if a club like Rochdale wants to put in a bid on a player the selling club informs them of their evaluation which must be met for a sale .The Blades hearing this are also interested in the same player so the selling club raise their evaluation because the Blades are interested?

Should have kept Jay McEveley as a squad member for cover on the left and centre half and also kept either Flynn or JCR, we are now short on the wings.

JCR who is playing at Barnet, Flynn at Oldham and mceverley I don't care where he is but I think you get the drift. Players who leave us on a free generally go one way.

Who else could do the job?
If there was a job going?
As I've said before in all seriousness I think the site could really do with 1 if not 2 mods. All it needs is someone sensible who is relatively active. The admins obviously don't quite have time as they have mentioned in the past, so having mods is the solution to that.

I'd do a fantastic job but I won't be applying for the position at this time. Sorry everybody.

I could do it obviously as there's not too many things I can't do, but I do think it is better suited to other candidates.

Back on topic I think Wilders plan went tits up weeks ago. He said he wanted his targets at the club for the start of pre season and assumed a big bollox club with a hard manager that won't take any nonsense would get their way, but they didn't read the script. Then primary targets wouldn't adhere to his timescales, so some are second choice (he said he wouldn't wait for them so move to next), there are huge gaps on the filed, outgoing players generated little interest which in his words was a surprise and agents are bumping up fees. Now we have the prospect of the players that were shown the door might be given a chance to fill the gaps, maybe they have better prospects than the bottom of L1

Wonder if he has contingencies or a Plan B cause Plan A is missing a few wheels.

Golly Gee!

Getting rid of a load of players is expensive and replacing them needs a reasonably good scouting operation and a reasonable warchest to finance it. Seeing as we change our Chief Scout and Manager annually, seemingly, we start each summer in the transfer market with our trousers around our legs, a new manager who doesn't know the players who are here, a short term shortlist scribbled on the fly and a three way international skype conference to prize a few bob from the Board. The answer to which is probably "the club's running at a loss, we've just had to pay off the old manager and his entire staff, there's FFP and a load of signings from the previous manager - we'd love to help but our hands are tied. You'll have to get rid of a few to find the funds. Oh and by the way, if we're not in the play-off positions by xmas we'll probably veto any new additions in the window - we'll use the fax machine argument again."

We desperately need some continuity, modernisation and organisation.

No, the problem isn't anything to do with the amount he's let out and in, we always needed a big clear out.

It's the quality of the players he's brought in that is the problem.

Lets come back to this argument in 11 days time

Yes.

I'm fucking dreading the end of the window as our usual excuse is 'well the loan window opens next week'

We haven't got that this year.

Genuine question - do you expect us to recruit the 4-6 players we need in next 11 days?
