........... about when Harry left after 7 years at the helm, and we were heading for the drop? Now I know that was mid-season, but I see parallels here.

We went down, unluckily, some may say unjustly, last year. We'd had a strong leader as a manager, who had forged and moulded his own team. He decided it was time to go, and a new man came in, who couldn't do a thing while the legal bollocks was settled.

Now think back to Harry going. We drew 5 in the league on the bounce after he resigned, and short of a win v Arsenal, nobody was convinced about Kendall.

Now we all know now that it was a false dawn, but it nearly wasn't, and that in retrospect what was spent was just an attempt to buy our way back, but following the departure of such a charismatic, or at least 'larger than life' character, might it just take a few moments or so for Robson to fill Neil's boots?

Some of the people I heard on Grumble Or Grumble wanted shooting. Robson still needs some time.

Think that is the main point of that. Every new manager needs some time, give him a chance.

The events of the last couple of days in terms of transfer dealing meant that even a draw yesterday would have been greeted with moans of discontent.

The parallels with old regimes are there for all to see, this is a period of transition and as everyone likes to point out: things will not turn around over night.

I think that we are all looking for signs of improvement and even though we did better against WBA, i still don't think we were all that great and we struggled to create clear cut chances in that game too.

Lets hope that we can use the international break to get Carney, Naysmith and Hendrie fit and also add a couple of loan signings that will give us all a lift.

Are we in a relegation battle? Is there even the remotest chance of us being involved in a relegation battle at the end of the season? No, didn't think so....
Some of the moaners just like to whine for the sake of it, like a jet engine whines all the time but can't help it. If you were to give them a bag full of used fivers they would moan like buggery that they wanted tenners, and fivers are crap.

Following that kind of performance yesterday you have to expect people to be worried. Calling for the managers head is ridiculous and i expect that in the majority of cases, it is done so without much conviction.

it's gonna be a long 2 weeks.

its o.k saying give him time give him time, but the clocks ticking. leave it too long and were going to have no chance. teams winning and pulling away from us just makes it harder.

How much time does robson need to rid of the schoolboy errors?

He said himself that it will take 10-12 games so i am prepared to give him that long before i make my mind up; at almost the half way stage we appear to be well short.

10 - 12 games. teams like say watford could win most of them and be flying, we will be struggling.

Whats pre season for then? just a kick around and not get the team playing together?

We brought in 4 new guys, tried several others, tried to change our style of play, then collected injuries that left Robson with an NW team. No wonder they reverted to type under pressure. We could wish for better things but unless we are still sixth from bottom at the end of September, we should wait to complain. Everybody has an off day, just hope it does not trun into weeks.
