........... about when Harry left after 7 years at the helm, and we were heading for the drop? Now I know that was mid-season, but I see parallels here.
We went down, unluckily, some may say unjustly, last year. We'd had a strong leader as a manager, who had forged and moulded his own team. He decided it was time to go, and a new man came in, who couldn't do a thing while the legal bollocks was settled.
Now think back to Harry going. We drew 5 in the league on the bounce after he resigned, and short of a win v Arsenal, nobody was convinced about Kendall.
Now we all know now that it was a false dawn, but it nearly wasn't, and that in retrospect what was spent was just an attempt to buy our way back, but following the departure of such a charismatic, or at least 'larger than life' character, might it just take a few moments or so for Robson to fill Neil's boots?
Some of the people I heard on Grumble Or Grumble wanted shooting. Robson still needs some time.
