I am interested in how you feel Maguire played today.
For me was like a fish out of water.
Distribution was atrocious, he fell over like a weeping 5 year old after a few minutes and the contact from the bald defender belonging to the pigs was almost non existent.
He allowed pigs to batter and jostle him out of the game.

Struggled with the big game like Lowton. Collins carried him at times. Distribution awful at times, but was more sporadic errors than poor all games

Take your own advice (as you posted elsewhere) and read the other threads. It was all Monty's fault!:)

No it was not Monty alone.
Maguire, Quinn and Cresswell were equally dire today.

i thought Maguire did alright. he's slow for a centre half but he coped quite well defensively in what is a tough game, constant aerial bombardment. a better forward line could have punished them but i thort Collins and maguire did the job today. aside from the abysmal marking for the goal of course. but i agree maguires distribution was rubbish.

everyones being a bit harsh on Lowton i think. Lowton looked like he wanted the ball more than anyone else, he ran at people, pulled off some skills, got crosses in (of varying quality admittedly) and generally looked assured. even my Dad was impressed and hes an owl. think we have fuck all chance of keeping him in the summer (lowton not my dad).

Thought Maguire did ok defending but when he had time for composure he showed very little. He'll learn from it with the guidance of the more experienced players.
