Happy Birthday to the late great Steve Clarke of Def Leppard. Not sure if he followed football at all, but a Sheffield lad all the same.
Got his autograph, on a Cassette somewhere upstairs Hysteria album i think , Leppard weren't the same , (writing songs) when he died , top bloke had probs with drink and fame tho , couldn't handle either .
Joe is a Blade and Sav is an Owl , not sure about the rest of the band . Made a shit load of money though, perfect timing with MTV taking off in America .

I’ve got this programme from 1988 (I wasnt there, I was 4).

Its autographed multiple times by all the band apart from Rick Allen, annoyingly.

It was signed for a Blade as obligingly put by Joe Elliott. But Steve Clark also mentions United.

Get it on ebay USA , make a fortune !!!! ££$$$
Its my pension 😂

Its got the security badge from the event on it as well, so no doubt its kosher. Was given it by a family friend about 20 years ago. Just a shame he couldn't find Rick Allen to sign it as well.

I was at school with Rich (before he was Rick) Allen and a shared mate was Mark Roe, the golfer who lived a few doors down. Mark was a Blade (lives down south now though) but Rich was far more into Van Halen than football.

I haven't seen Rich to talk to in decades though.

Steve went to Wisewood school; I was in the same year as his younger brother, Kev. I think the whole family were Blades, Kev certaonly was and stood on the Shoreham with the rest of us. Good lads the pair of them.

Yep the songs got crap once he'd gone, just my opinion, but thankfully they're great live and have some legendary songs that every rock fan needs to hear performed live....

Still fill arenas all over the world, all I can fill is the kettle.. RIP Steve..

Joe was at the FA Cup semi final. I took a photo of him but I seem to have deleted it.

That's probably fine for DL enthusiasts, but as I'm not it's worth being shown who and how to spell the surname correctly.
I don’t think you’re that interested tbh. You could type ‘Steve Clarke Def Leppard’ into Google or ‘Steve Clark Def Leppard’ and you’d get the same results. You were just trying to shithouse the OP over a spelling mistake.

Not quite as severe as you'd prefer to represent. Just a little surprised that in the space of a couple of sentences the same poster could misspell the surname of an apparent idol, hope that clarifies for you. Not quite the crime of the century I think.

Yeah we flew from Dublin and on the way back after the game I wanted to go up on the plane and speak to him, but didn't get a chance to , ive met him a few times in Dublin at gigs , ( hes best mates with Ricky warwick - back star riders/the almighty) and I would be chatting blades to joe ,

Joe and Alan Kelly are the main reason I started to follow blades... growing up in ireland your Liverpool or man united ( back then) and I was a massive leps fan , I was made follow manure... but my love of def leppard and seeing alan kellys heroics made me follw the blades ... since 1993 , so im thankful to Joe for that ;-)
