I wish Gus well. He's done really well for us and I'm disappointed he's going but at the same time he looked like he was casting last season and I think it's a good move for all parties. However if he's going to be replaced with a loan player only id be disappointed. Id like to see Chong given a few games out there because he can play there as well as the right. Maybe tomorrow we'll see that.

I do hope so,there’s a lot of good supporters who have put their hard earned into being entertained and they deserve it just as much as CW deserves the right players to put at decent team out that could win a match.

Good luck to the kid, gave his best and is a talent on his day, just that his day is on average once a month. Outrageous ability but I'd take a Jock Bryson over him everyday, not as talented but was uber committed and consistent.
We need a new Bryson.
Championship player of the year two seasons ago. Most assists in the championship last season.

Christ almighty what level of consistency does it take to be consistent enough for United fans?

Was the same with Brooks as well. Just not consistent enough for us lot. Bring on next season at least Chong will be consistently fucking terrible then you'll be pleased presumably.

Most assists in the Championship? Maybe for us but not the league.
I'm talking about another era that I'm guessing you didn't witness. The game has moved on, but it's nowhere near as good/fun.

You are a Woody over Currie man, it seems.

Currie was special.on his day, unplayable at times but was inconsistent. Played when he wanted and could turn a game. But drifted out of many a game.

Woody was just a very consistent very good consistent player, scored plenty and even if the team was poor on the day, Woody gave you a chance as he could hit a ball.

Currie, brilliant but inconsistent, Woody, much more consistent, but consistently very good. Loved em both, but push come to shove, give me Woody over a season.

Oh and yes, id swap Hamer for a new Jock Bryson. In a heart beat.

The game isn't even as fun as it was 10 years ago

I hope those add ons are not dependent on Coventry staying up because they won't be worth the paper its written on.
If they’re based on him losing a stone when Coventry actually ask him to train like a pro footballer, or getting 5+ yellow cards next season, we’re quids in.

If it’s based on Coventry getting 30 points or him lasting 65 minutes in a game, we’re screwed.

Just nod your head and smile at the young uns, pal. They sure do shout a lot. I was the same when i was young, dumb and full of cum.

Some of em spend their time shrieking to anyone that will read their posts about how the Blades world will end (the end is nigh apparently) and that disaster looms like a football Poseidon Adventure. Must be depressing in their shoes. Truth is... United will be ok this season. Wont go up, wont go down, so just enjoy it, i say. Life's too short to get riled up about football.

Surely this forum is perfect evidence that it's not the young uns that are negative and depressing, it's you miserable old twats that won't shut up about how the game has gone 😂

The difference is when Hamer was with us we had Hamer and Gyokeres and that was about it. They carried us with their play.

When we sold them we bought our present side and squad with the money. Hamer won't be 1st choice with us, but he will have better players around him than he has with you. He will be playing in the middle where he is at his best.

And as usual a very good player for a club becomes a not very good player for different reasons once the player leaves.

Player of the season last season blah blah. Suddenly no tracking back, poor at tackles and too many bookings. How many cards last season and how many games .missed through suspensions?
Hamer aside, and I totally get why he wants a move. He almost went to Leeds last year but they’ve moved on.

But one real quick question. What are you doing here on a Sheff U forum? Genuinely tried to work out why, and I can’t.

I agree. Both old and young can be miserable fuckers. I just choose to ignore them if i can.

Because like all his brethren, he's a wum getting bites from half the entire forum.

Its not asset stripping though is it. Its playing by the rules.

We're screwed. The teams that haven't spent much in last few years can chuck money at it.
There’s also absolutely no benefit to them if they asset strip either, we’re worth less now than when they bought us, they’ve spent money on us in the meantime and will need to spend more if we stay a Championship team. It’s just something daft people say because they think it sounds clever.

I'll answer that one for you pal.

Its because hes a sad fucker.

I remember going.on Coventry's football forum when United went up to the PL (twice) recently..... actually, thinking about it, maybe i didnt... sad basket.

Just smile and wave boys, smile and wave. They are a bit simple.

Good fee for me, 3 years on, past his best, last year of his contract, btw if you think he’ll do much in the prem I’m not sure… you can get away been a bit bigger in the champ in the prem it’s all about been a full athlete!!!

He will give you the odd bit of quality from the bench in the prem maybe and 6m is pennies up there these days.

Good deal all around IMO.

The owners spent the last little bit of relegation money we had on hiring / firing Selles and like you said a data approach of signing.

If it’s right that we spent a combined £10m on Chong & Mccguiness (the source is Darren Smith so probably take that with a pinch of salt) then we absolutely pissed what we had up the wall
After the £10m on the Cannon that won't fire

Let Gus complete his medical, then tell them to stump up another 2 million. Last year of contract or not, 6 million is a bargain for them

Luckily for us we’re not the only team in the division who’s cash strapped. Probably gives us a realistic chance of finishing above the bottom 3.

Wilder said we’re going on a journey - yes a rough one.

He said he’d sort it in the summer, which I don’t blame him for at all. If he had money he’d bring players in but for him to say that he must have been promised something that’s changed

Reactions: Gee

He was always going to leave this summer.

Disappointed in the fee, and even more disappointed it's to the tennis ball chuckers, I will NEVER forget their shameful behaviour in trying to get tha game against us abandoned.

It also says a lot about our new owners - I think we are back to the McCabe era, when any fee was a good fee regardless of the size of it.

Gonna be a long season. Let's hope One gets a run in the team now, it'll be good to see some younger players develop.
