Fixed it for you.
Not really. I’ve never said that.
What I have said is that a DoF changes nothing. We move from one model of decision making that has accountability to one that makes decisions with zero consequences because it’s always the coach that gets replaced. I’d be really fed up if we had a coach revolving door policy. No identity, just the next unproven foreign coach sliding in and then out again, in no time. Now they would be tedious.

the only people to blame for all of this mess is the owners… literally killed us last summer for years to come. Said nothing since and are hoping wilder can work some magic, then if it all goes wrong they’ll blame him. Until they move on we have nothing to come. They have absolutely no clue about football.

They will only move on if:

A. We are promoted.
Or
B. We are skint and they asset strip us.

They have committed too much money to just walk away.

How many companies with 8 figure turnovers that are one dodgy VAR decision (source - many idiot posters here) away from being a company with a 9 figure turnover do you know that have the COO and the head of HR be one and the same? Or is your dislike for the separation of powers just based on it not working in some instances elsewhere therefore it could never work for us?
I’ve got no truck with a model that has multiple people in responsible roles. It just needs to be backed up with the appropriate infrastructure. Adding one person as a DoF without that changed the needle not one iota. Sheffield United has always been run with a lean staff because it’s allus been skint.

Yours wasn't £500 was it?
For me and 2 adult kids was £1200. We don’t live in Sheffield either so the time and money invested is quite something. Our favourite players last season Gus Brooks and Seriki. Watched a lot of the Cup matches last night and today safe to say everyone of the Champ sides were better than we are. Can’t see a lot of cheer at the moment let’s pray for a good week next week but I won’t hold my breath.

We saw some good stuff from him. He shone in a sub optimal last season where the performance bar wasn't particularly high.

Good luck to him.

Decent in his day or in an ever more occasional moment, but won't live long in the memory or be a club great.

It appears we have problems heading down the tracks at an alarming rate now.

I admit it's not looking too rosey at the minute, but once Gus has been sold it may set the wheels in motion. Hopefully Souttar is first through the door 👍

Doubt it from what Danny Hall is saying. Hamer money needed to cover the losses. Frees & loans only now I reckon.

I don't regret it. It wasn't meant to be taken literally and stop being supercilious. If you didn't like it, YOU didn't need to comment.

It wasn't meant to be supercilious, it was meant to be helpful.

I thought you'd posted a throwaway remark without thinking.

It didn't occur to me that you wouldn't regret it when you thought it through, because the only type of person who makes a remark like that and doesn't regret it when they think it through, is the sort of person who stands at the bottom of a building shouting: "Jump" at someone standing out on a ledge.

However, if that's the sort of person you are, tant pis pour toi.<That was supercilious, by the way, just so you know the difference.

It wasn't meant literally it was a figurative comment for someone who clearly is only coming on "our" board to cause trouble. How do you know what triggers me? Lots of things trigger lots of people, you don't know everyone's backstory. The point is, what makes you judge and jury? Are you that pious?

Stay off the internet and hide away in real life, who the hell do you think you are.

So much doom and gloom on here over everything.
Hamer leaves for 6m... we are trying to get Souttar for a realistic price, whilst Leicester are wanting more as they are fucked financially more than we are.

Seeing that we sell Hamer there going to hope for the money they want... Us saying Hamer funds are not going to go towards transfer money isn't a bad tactic. Why would we come and say woo! 6m in the transfer kitty now 😅.

We may go back in for 1 more bid in Souttar and move on if not.

Hamer leaving does free up 1 permanent and hopefully a loan or 2.

We expected Hamer to go and we know weve got zero funds. 1 year left on his contract, no interest in contract talks because his club he loves want him back, there in the prem, signing on bonus, bigger wage, 29 and a chance at prem football, finish off where you love. No brainer. So its not that the club didnt want it, but who can compete with the above.

Some knowledgeable people on here, but some who just want to moan and seem to have no footballing knowledge, just attention grabbers jumping on negative bandwagon.

I feel down on United full stop right now but this is all very depressing and just shows how badly United have squandered our PL opportunities.

We manage to get promoted to the PL for the 3rd time in recent memory, sell our best two players and then unveil Hamer as our marquee signing.

Cov go up for the first time since Dion Dublin was a lad. He’s since had a total career change and has viewed more houses than my missus on a late night right move trawl. They’re somehow able to persuade our marquee signing that it would be better to go and warm their bench behind their new 30m man than hang around with our bunch of no hopers. All while we recoup peanuts and can’t afford to sign anyone.
Not signing a new contract, former club wants him back, former club now in Premier league, last big contract for him, whats hard about understanding that?

Had a quick look on the Coventry City fans forum and they are stating it’s £6 million for Hamer I’m hoping there’s some money for CW for at least a loan or 2 now

We won't be signing souttar.

They'll be another story in the papers tomorrow about another sale no doubt.

Great post but as things stand even I'm pretty pessimistic on this seasons chances of success and I'm generally very positive. Having the strongest three relegated sides for many a year doesn't help neither and selling our best two players to be replaced with loans is hardy inspiring.

We can't just rely on loans and frees every season. The permanent signings last season were mixed last summer too of course.
