Not saying we will really but the compo deal should add up. As a club there needs to be a longer term strategy review, say if we are thinking Wilder for the next 5 years. Who do we have in the club that is a natural left sided AM now, O’Hare has played there before against Stoke at home. We have a few others One can play in there too.
Hamer probably is worth £5mill on the market and going in the last year of his contract it doesn’t mean we should automatically sell him at the 1st opportunity. When we had cash to splurge in the Premier League and in the Championship it was the likes for £10million for Cannon, if Cannon is worth £10million to us and for Stoke then what is the value to us for Hamer? We need to be a bit more ruthless with our transfer dealings.
In the summer of 2024 apparently he was worth £18miill to Leeds, then in 2025 £13mill, apparently Leeds are interested again if that is the case we could wait to get them into a bidding war with Cov. The only advantage to us is short term cash and wages off the books. Realistically if we got £5million it will be paid over 3 years and we without a loan we aren’t going to be replacing him with anyone half decent.
