It depends on the outcome and area of the pitch, at times this season we have needed that but in the form of tackles and clearances rather than shots on goal.

Last season yes i could understand £10mill, on the back of a hit and miss season and with only a year left, they will tempt a lower offer knowing we aren’t in a position to play too much hard ball and see. Worst case they get him on a free next season, best case £3-5mill

I think your way wide of the mark.

I think he has an idea of moving closer to Holland potentially. And I think it's very unlikely he will sign a new deal.
If he won't sign a new deal we will try to sell him for a pretty low fee all things considered.

And I think he's enjoyed it here but will be open to going.

He's not ambitious enough to get himself fit and improve his disciplinary record.
The time for him to snag a move up the pyramid was straight after being voted midfield player of the season.
I think he'll sit it out at half-speed until we yet again have to lose a high fee player for nowt.
When will we learn that we need players on an upward trajectory so that we can start trading for a profit on transfers ?
The fees we've paid for nil return have helped to sink us financially.
We've no chance of becoming even a poor man's version of Bournemouth , Brentford or Brighton.
We haven't a clue how to recruit , develop & trade.
Nothing will change until the current mediocre regime is replaced.
But the owners don't have the first inkling of the why or the how to do it.
So we fans watch grimly on , exasperated , as the club's 7 year flow of money expires with only regression in the quality of the squad.
And if one has the temerity to suggest that a better job could have been done , the cries of "you're too entitled" come raining down on one's head.
Well - the proof of the pudding is in the eating - and what's laid before us now is pretty unappetising.
The saddest thing is that the owners are miles away from understanding their own business or the market in which it operates.

A Championship club would take a bigger swing than £5m for Hamer, regardless of the contract situation. Parachute / Disney clubs are going big to get promotion and even in his "worst" season, he's still on track to top the assist chart.

We can find a lot of Rothwell type players out there but the likes of Hamer come along oncnever 5 years if we are lucky.

I like Gus and he's one of our few players worth watching. However the team does seem more effective without him and to me it's a 'no brainer' to cash in while he still has some value.

What is depressing is how a talented well paid footballer has no commitment to improve. No dedication to fitness, no discipline for teamwork and no awareness of game management. He'd do well to ask Morgan and Montgomery for advice on the above.

I’d say the pair of them acquitted themselves to a much higher standard in that league, pushing the relegation to last day rather than being relegated by Christmas like Hamer was (and without the weekly drubbings).

We love to denigrate that Warnock team but a lot of those players are the same type of player from Wilders first stint everyone loves to reminisce about.

Not been at his best this season, in part due to some off field issues, but he's a very good footballer. Yet our fans can't wait to slag him off. Usually the same ones who only come on here when we lose a game.
