He stood out in a pretty poor Coventry side. It was a low bar. We were spoiled by having the likes of Ndiaye, Gibbs-White and McAtee. Gus is a long way below their standards, and was when he was with you. Plus he isn’t very fit these days. I can understand Coventry fans of 2-3 years ago being dazzled by him, but we’ve had much better in recent years.

I still think he is a great player to have, a proper dead ball specialist on free kicks and corners. Isn't afraid to have a shot from distance. He actually wants to get the ball moving forward and make something happen.

As someone who was a big fan of Beckham, I enjoy watching Hamer warm taking free kicks and hitting the top corner 9 times out of 10. Are there some aspects of his fitness levels that could be better? probably but he is nearly 30 now and I doubt it will change. I still like watching him play football regardless.

I'd be more concerned about why a younger Campbell still can't do 90 minutes very often.

I remember their View From suggesting his level was Liverpool rather than SUFC. That was utterly mental.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the entertainment he brings and if he goes it might be years until we see a similar talent. But the reasons he’s still in the Championship are glaringly obvious.

Our fans think we should have a squad of 25 players who would all start at established Premier League teams.

When we're handing out contract/loan fees to players like Godfrey, Soumare, Ogbene, Shackleton, Davies and Cannon and look at what they're achieving I think Hamer is worth his place.,if Gus and Peck were to move on in january or the the summer we'd have a job replacing them

100%. They have flaws, like any other Championship player (if they didn’t, they at the top end of the top flight). If we sell them, we’ll replace them with players who have other flaws, almost certainly more critical flaws.

Armedhodzic and Robinson definitely had flaws last season. We replaced them, gambling on it being an upgrade and look how that went.

Unfortunately, parachute payments ending means a gradual downgrade each year from now on, until we hit lucky with a crop of good signings in about eleven years’ time. It’s what happens!

Loads seem to think he’s off during this window, not sure what performances this season that opinion comes from. He’s been surpassed by a few players, despite him being capable of the outrageous.

Isn't a wide player.

He's our most gifted player but at the moment he doesn't fit in. Who do you leave out for him and what is his best position.
He came on last night and looked lost wide left. He did a couple of cameo runs, cutting inside and getting a shot off but overall was ineffective.
To be honest i'm flummoxed as to where he plays.
