We have a LOT to do, to recruit players with experience, to add depth, to add guaranteed starters and to have a squad capable of playing to Selles' system. Selling your best and most creative player makes that task much, much bigger.

Quite a lot to do and it's not clear how much resource with which to do it, either.

The amount we receive for him is inconsequential when you remember the recent interview with Seles where he said he was going to build his team around Hamer and that is why he is playing him in the middle of the park.

Hopefully some of the money could be reinvested, we are lacking quality in midfield and attack.

We be relying on Peck who was rumoured to be off and what Billy Blacker and Hampton until Arblaster is back (who knows how fit he’ll be initially). That’s not a promotion chasing Midfield.

We're not an autos contender at all, as it stands, IMO and needing investment to be a confident playoffs contender (due to lack of depth).

We signed him for £15m plus add ons. Since then he’s done a year in the Prem and looked our best player, and looked a level above the Championship and won Champ POTY.

If we’re not getting £5m more than what we spent, that ain’t good.

What makes you think Selles will have a say at all?

He wont.

PSV put a bid in that is either accepted or rejected, player agrees personal terms, pushes for the move, we reluctantly accept the bid. Selles' involvement in the process would be minimal, if at all...still it will be another stick for the Wilder bum-boys to beat him with.

Prince used to get decent fees to be honest. Under the new administration the Souza fee was a bit light. Let’s see how they do on the next few outgoings when they come.
