Why has Hamer's suggested fee dropped to 10.5m now to Leeds or have I been sucked into clickbait. I thought we were somewhere between 20 and 25m or he stays put?

Definitely click bait... I saw £12m to PSV.



but, I do think transfer fees are made up on the spot and often us as fans talk about what we would want them to be sold or bought for.

Seen Souza to Wolfsburg for £11m, Peck is apparently worth £25m...

I have no real reference point for this but assuming its like buying and selling company assets...

We bought him for £15m 2 years ago, on a 4 year deal.

If we write off his cost across 4 years, on paper, he is currently worth £7.5m

Is he more attractive (as a footballer...) now than he was 2 years ago? Probably but he is also 2 years older at 28 and unlikely I would say to be seen as a prospect to improve.


Not sure what any of that goes to show but hes worth more than that to us, but he may also want to move and talk of being patient for promotion might not help us keep him.

I also don't think he will like the running that seems like he may have to do with Selles

I think with Hamer it is what he is worth to the side this year. He still has 2 seasons to go, if we are going to replace him we would need in the region of £15million again. 90% of the transfer rumours (maybe more) are clickbait/agent talk however when you have Premier League clubs who have gone on record saying they are happy to splurge the cash to stay up (in particular Leeds) why would we settle for under £25million, if they want him that bad, then make it worth our while, we are under no obligations to sell. If a Champions League club are genuinely sniffing we should be over £20million too as they have the cash. Although most transfer rumours are genuinely just that rumours we can be in a position this season where we don't need to sell at the first sniff of something over £4million

I believe Everton are signing a midfielder, so hope Hamer stays and build a team with him in middle of the park

Don’t think the Hamer sale is in our control.

Agree if any bid is under £20 million then we’ll reject it.
However if we receive a £25 million bid think we’ll accept and he’ll be sold.

I reckon we might initially receive a bid of £18 million basic with add-ons potentially taking it to £25 million.
I’d reject this too….however if it’s £20 million with add-ons taking it to £25million then I’m on the fence.
Think it depends what plans the manager has regards midfield tactics and what replacements we have lined up.
 



He lives in Dronfield. I often see him in Sainsburys shopping. The staff are like flies round s**t around him.
Having said that, if I were dealing with Dronfield's finest blue rinse brigade and professional moaning club, then I might need a diversion too.

Today's snippets, apparently it's far too hot, we could do with some rain, rampant refusal to abide by the hosepipe ban and the scandalous price of the scones at Dronfield Barn (the cultural hub of S18). Which begs a bigger question. Just how much will we be willing to pay for a nice item of confectionary? That's probably another thread all of its own.

I hope he stays and becomes a mega star for us but, in that highly unlikely event, at least the milk and bread might get stocked up more quickly so I can do what I need and get out.
