Sadly he'll be gone in January or the summer. One of the best players I've had the pleasure of watching for us, sadly for a number of reasons, he hasn't performed this season. Hoping we use the money we get for him well, but knowing COH Sports it'll go into their pockets, or be spent on an AI recruit/Luton reject.

On reflection it probably would have been worth listening more to the offers that were apparently on the table in the summer to replace with an actual position person. We tend to play him out wide on the left or right, why not invest in a LW/RW. With the season he is having is he still worth £13million, to a Premier League side probably yes however does he start week in week out? To PSV/a Dutch side would they risk that amount on him? I can see the value being under £10mill now.

Cov will go up, and he'll sign for them in the Prem next summer.

There it is, there's the romantic storyline.
Can't see it happening. Great player, but he'll be 29 and as much as I love Gus, he doesn't exactly look after himself like most athletes do! Would try and get rid in January, and get as much money out of Leeds as possible.

Good luck to them, if they do.

Personally, I think Hamer is in the same category as Anel & Souza.
Good enough to play at a better level than the Championship (Dutch / German / Italian prem) but not an EPL player.

He's one of the most talented footballers to have played for us in a long time but just lacks that bit of athleticism to take his game and his career to the next level and its a ship that's probably sailed for him now, especially at the top level in this country.

Give him a ball and he can put it on a sixpence but if it comes to hard graft, chasing back and putting in a tackle (that gets the ball) especially in the situation we're in, he's something of a passenger. In a confident side like last year, he'll shine

He's essentially as close as we'll ever get to Paul Scholes.

Cash in in January and make sure we spend the money on someone half decent.

I think he would still prefer to go back home to Holland.

Hasn't his missus gone back to Holland and taken their son with her? If so I could definitely see him returning there in January if we can get a decent fee..

anything over 15m and we will sell in january
It will probably depend on whether we genuinely have something to play for come January. There’s a scenario when it would feel the right time to sell.

Big if, but if we pull away from the relegation zone and end up comfortably lower mid table it will likely be this time. Implosion aside we’d hopefully be not thinking to much about relegation, and miracle aside playoffs will be well out of reach.

There’s no chance if Hamer being here beyond end of current contract, you then are in the scenario where we get peanuts in the summer or nothing the summer after.

If that's true then it all makes sense as it really seems like hes lost his motivation and his enthusiasm.

Understandably so if his missus isn't settled here and he cant see his little boy.

Nothing to do with the injury and said it at the time we should have taken the £25M we were allegedly offered in the window. Reminds me of Mousset with a bit more consistency.

Any confirmation as to who offered £25m?

If I had come criticism it’s that he turns the ball over too often.

You can say he tries things and that naturally can lead to surrendering possession.

But in the top flight you have to fight so hard to get it back. I remember away at West Ham, he just blindly flicked the ball around the corner in a blind pass, it went straight to their man, they countered and scored.

You simply don’t get away with that at the top level.

It’s a bit of a catch 22, in the Championship the Reward/Risk probably works on his favour, at the top level it doesn’t.

I'd have snapped your hand off for £25 million

Personally I wouldn't be so keen to get rid in January.
We all know that he has quality and in this division amongst the best midfielders around. He's struggled for form this season, but then again so has the whole team.
Needs a goal or some good assists to get his confidence back a bit. Was unfortunate against Hull not to score.

However I do see the merit if we have pulled ourselves away from the relegation zone but not feeling too optimistic for playoffs that cashing in could be an idea.

Having said this, however doubtful this is. (Mainly because I reckon he does fancy a move back to Holland for family reasons) if he was open to extending his contract then why would we cash in then?

We've got so used to our key players getting into the last year of the contract and being sold. Or even running it completely down that we are forgetting that it's also possible for players to extend their stay. Unlikely in this instance because I do feel that come January or the summer he will be somewhere in Holland or close too.

This injury, assuming it isn't too serious could be the best thing that happens to him. He looks like he needs a break. Let's hope he comes back with a fire in his belly
