Picture the scenario - it’s half time - we are WINNING - opposition have just MISSED a penalty. What a moment for a manager to be in the moment, uber-positive and forward-looking - “Great goal Ty, even that ref hasn’t helped them - now let’s drive towards the kop and finish the job.”

Unfortunately, our manager exhibited backward-looking anger issues - presumably around the pen decision and the Mee tackle decision - and decided to attempt to decapitate a bloke sitting near me. Gets sent off - enhances a crap ref’s feelings of self-importance and the whole positive bubble bursts.

In the nfl they talk a lot about situational football - we need better situational management.

Agree, you can blame the Ref's incompetence all you like but last night was 100% on Wilder.

First half performance wasn't bad, we had a bit of momentum, they had missed the pen then Wilder has a brain fart.

Second half, although we were unlucky with Hamers quickly taken free kick and O'Hares shot we were quickly sucker punched by a combination of poor marking for their first, allowing probably the smallest player on the park a free header and then a worldy for the second.

After that lot's of huffing and puffing but again, too many below par performances. Cooper hesitant and shaky looking but not helped by those in front of him. Burrows was awful leaving Mee to do far too much on that left hand side. Midfield again was weak, Peck has lost the ability to move forwards and goes sideways or backwards, COH was busy and at least trying, Hamer poor but perhaps his apparent off-the-field issues aren't helping.

Ogbene can apparently run 100m in under 11 seconds but rarely looked willing to try and take his man on, (Manning, who had been booked).

Campbell looked better last night, great goal and chased and harried but again blowing out of his arse on 60 odd minutes.

Then the master stroke of leaving Danny Ings on the bench and bringing on Tom Cannon saw us playing with 10-men and the game was over from that point really.

Again, the Ref was abysmal, could only count to 8 and had his whistle in his mouth to blow for a foul before the corner was even taken for Pecks disallowed goal.

I like Chris Wilder and his passion but he really needs to have more self control. There were so many wind up situations in that match - I dread to think what he would have done had he been on the bench for the 8 yard wall nonsense. That was the final straw for me.
