A praise for Mr Backwell for making the subs at half time, i don't know if it was just that that made the difference to our performance or because Blackwell also had a go at them but since there's so much negativity around about Blackwell and his tactics from certain members i though id praise him for this decision as we played much better in the second half, if only Webber could find his finishing boots.

Spring and Stokes came on and did well.

Id of taken Webber off for Sharp towards the end.

I completely agree about Webber. That was one of his best performances for us in a long time. If Billy were to have come on, then (being the pro manager that I am) I'd have taken Squinny off.

Webber was having a party on the right, but expecting him to score as well as take the right royal might have been asking too much. I'd have sacrificed a bit in the middle to get the 'fox in the box' in.

I was suprised that he made the changes so early but i have to agree that we looked much sharper in the second 45. Spring and Howard have the look of a good paiting in midfield, both can spray the ball about without being too attacking.

Looking back on the game we really did have enough chances to win the game comfortably; sometime you have those days when things don't go for you and this is obviously proving to be one of those weeks.

Luckily for us the majority of the teams currently in the shake up are going showing equally inconsistent form at the moment so we aren't being punished.

Lets hope that the Southampton result proves to be the start of a long unbeaten run and then the result will not look so bad :-)

Up the blades.

thought spring put in some great balls. only did one bad ball while he played. put the boot in also and won some tackles. didn't give it away like speed has been!

It was nice to see Spring coming back and covering for a tiring Naughton too.

thats the thing with webber and cotts down with kyle, they dont give him much help. At least squinny puts tackles in to help naysmith out.

SJH RB and kyle right wing?

I was delighted come the 2nd half as I thought KB had boldly acted upon what were obvious poor performances by Cotts and Speed.

I was however a little disappointed to hear after the match that the Speed substitution was forced through injury rather than tactics. I sincerely hope he would've made the change regardless but I'm gonna hazard a guess that he wouldn't, judging by the interview.

I sometimes wonder if KB is a little too hesitant when it comes to substituting our "bigger name" players.
