Sheffield United today launched details of its 'forging the dream' half season ticket offers.

Blades fans who snap up the 12-game package will be able to claim a free ticket for the pre-Christmas fixture against Bristol City, currently in fourth, one place behind United in the Championship.

Starting with the Boxing Day home fixture against Sunderland, the half season ticket includes visits from city rivals Sheffield Wednesday, Aston Villa, Leeds United, Nottingham Forest, Neil Warnock's Cardiff City and Middlesbrough.

United are already averaging home gates of over 26,000 on the back of a promising start to their return to the Championship. So, demand for seats for the cluster of high profile games is expected to be high.

Chief Operating Officer Andrew Birks said: "This is a winning half season ticket offer for our fans who want to be sure of their seats in the second half of the campaign. The atmosphere at the Lane has been special this season with Chris Wilder taking the team into the top six.

"The package features games against some renowned teams as well as clubs, like the Blades, who have made promising starts to the season."

Manager Chris Wilder said: "Last season was a great success, but we are forging ahead in every aspect on and off the field. We want our fans to be part of it."

The half season ticket offer provides savings of up to £97.00 on match by match ticket purchasing. Fans can take advantage of several other benefits including discounts in the Blades Superstore and 1,400 loyalty points.

Half season tickets bought before 4th November qualify for a FREE ticket for the Blades last pre-Christmas game at Bramall Lane against Bristol City.

Get em in, more the better, the ones that have returned this last few months will hopefully be backfor years, keep spreading the word, and the possibility of more students will also help the cause.

Very sensible if you ask me and can see them being in demand. More the merrier if you ask me.

Good things are happening to this club at last, and having a full stadium makes it even better.

Is there a half season ticket for a non standing non swearing non singing no kids no flags no one ever needs to leave their seat during the time from kick off to half or full time section that gets you 40,000 loyalty points straight off for you and your kids? (With extra leg room).

Think I've covered everything.......

Good to see them on sale early for those who wish to take advantage of the offer.

Out of interest, how many half season tickets do we usually sell, or have we sold when in a similar position?

Only near the dugouts and dependent on availability when Jurgen Morton Hall (made up name) has decided how many he is kicking out from there:eek:.

Excellent, and gives those being fleeced game to game an opportunity to save a bit of cash.

Well done blades.

Just wish I was home to take advantage

We should be able to forge a few more fans with this offer.

And I'm sure Wilder did say this:

"Last season was a great success, but we are forging ahead in every aspect on and off the field. We want our fans to be part of it."

We're absolutely forging the fuck out of it.
Said exactly the same thing to a mate earlier, I’ve no doubt at all that is a direct quote from the mouth of Chris Wilder.

Can I get half a Laver emblazoned hat (in wool or cashmere - not polyester!) if I buy one?

And does it entitle you to a seat by yourself or just one bum cheek shared in a seat with someone else?

Good business for the club, get more fans in while we are on a high.

Yes fleeced.

I bet a number of fans were quite disappointed with match day prices when released. I certainly was. Going from 20 quid a game to paying 32 with kids at 15, is a big outlay.

Fortunately for me I can only make a handful of games, most of which are away. If Cardiff can charge 22 per adult for an unrestricted view with good leg room and facilities, why can't we?

We can and we do.

I've never heard anyone complain about United's pricing structure before. Two seasons ago it was listed as the best value matchday experience in League 1 by a BBC survey. I personally think the prices at United are fair and reasonable (unlike over at S6). I have three season tickets in the South Stand - one adult, two junior. Occasionally I buy a ticket for my son's friend and they go on the kop together. That costs me £9 - I don't mind doing it for him because he's from a family with not a lot of money and I know my son enjoys going with him. I know what it's like to not have much money myself growing up - and watching the Blades was a great boost for me as a kid.

Anyhow...

I don't get the comparison above tbh. I think Sheffield United's ticket prices are more than reasonable for watching football at this level.

You missed .....in the BLUT.

Genuine nice gesture CB.

Majority of matches have been category A, of which the cheapest ticket is 25 on the kop... Which does not meet any of the criteria I have mentioned.

Try again
No need to try again. You've invented your own soft criteria, and I'm glad the club don't pander to it. As someone who goes every week I'd rather see us compete financially than look after occasional fans who'd turn their nose up at the chance to sit in the kop.

£247.00 for 12 games in the Westfield is decent value. Seriously tempted.

Not soft criteria at all, a simple comparison to another club with better facilities.

The overall issue here is ticket prices around the country. Just because we're not in wednesday or leeds' ticket pricing doesn't mean that ours aren't over priced.

And we are comparatively cheap. That's just a fact. You thinking the kop is a bit too foul mouthed for the entry price is subjective

Why did you quote £32 as an example then?
