I'm disappointed with the lack of signings today. I've been very critical of the club on numerous occasions, and I will no doubt be again.

I had no problem with the sale of Murphy. I have a problem with us not making signings with the money.

I have a whole host of positive and negative opinions on the club.

I have targeted a specific issue repeatedly buried in your posts. I don't go for the long list of other gripes you make. I actually agree with some. But your posts show no sense of balance. But for the odd hint otherwise, you actually seem to hate the club.

This is a good point. These days we tend to be buying more than selling. Unfortunately, any sale is followed by a demand to buy more, and the purchase slate is wiped clean.

That said, we're told the Murphy money was to be made available, not that it had already been spent. Having been in for players today, it's disappointing to have failed on all fronts.

And so do I, Alco. It seems like the Gillingham game was some sort of epiphany for the players and they have somehow got to grips with what Adkins wants. Good stuff. I won't count my chickens though or get the fireworks out yet because - like I have said - I never see a run of four (or so) wins as anything beautiful about Sheffield United because somewhere is a counterbalancing run of fuckups, usually in February or March. It happened three years ago when all seemed to be going so blisteringly well and aside from our top scorers going to the big house, what the fuck did we have to replace him? There were people on here even then who said 'If Ched goes down for this, we're fucked'. back then you know. Odd that.

No. The only thing I hate is seeing Sheff Utd endure in a league we really don't deserve to be in. We deserved to be relegated and maybe deserved a few lessons, but now its beyond a fucking joke especially when we have some sort of cash cow attached to the workings and serially sell talismanic players for them to rot on the bench of their new clubs. If that don't break your heart then nothing will. My point as ever is that it isn't the players fault for being tactically underpowered; it isn't the recent pair of managers we have had; it isn't the groundsman's job nor you and I but the board have some questions to answer as to why we are always a selling club and what their words spoke in the past to gee our morale-depleted supporters up actually mean when measured against our record.

I hope this hasn't been too much of an essay for you to read, Alco. Aside from your personal dislike for me, I do believe we want to see the same thing - Sheffield United promoted unchallenged come May and our ongoing success in the Champoinship. We have different approaches.
