Wow! I'd forgotten that Bill. We were a team back then eh? I think this one is also capable of great things. We don't have as much individual talent as we did in the 1970's team. There's no one in the current squad with the skill of Currie or anywhere near it. There's no one with the pace and blistering shot of Woodward either. Or the dribbling skills of Reece and Scullion. Or the combined striking skills of Dearden (good on the ground and in the air). And we don't have a midfielder as good as Hockey with his ferocious tackling and endless running. But...the way Wilder's got them playing and the effort they put in makes us a strong team. It's frightening to think how good we could become if he's allowed to bring in who he really wants in summer.

We were talking about Trevor Hockey yesterday at the game. He’d never be on the pitch nowadays with all the diving that goes off. The tackle the lad got sent of for was a typical Hockey tackle.

The pundits love us because we are playing a brand of football that hasn't been seen before. It's exciting, baffling and doesn't compute with how people see the beautiful game being played. We are pioneers and it's probably the biggest radical change in style since the great Dutch "total football" side. Will it get us up? Maybe not, Holland just fell short in the 74/78 world cup but if we do fail and Wilder is allowed to build on top of what we already have I can't see anyone stopping us next time around. This season or next it will happen and I am proud to witness such enjoyable, revolutinary football that the world hasn't seen before (even Bielsa was perplexed). Chris Wilder you a genius and we are proud of you and our club right now, long may it continue.

Add to that the following who wax lyrical about us at very opportunity: Colin Murray, Keith Andrew, Jeff Stelling, Jim White [a bit of a knob, but still]. Then of course Steve Morison saying we are the best team he has played in the league, and of course finally 'the Master' Bielsa singling us out for special praise, admitting that he had tried [unsuccessfully] to implement some of our ideas into his own team.

It's all set up for us to just miss out, isn't it?.......

What I like about what Wilder and Knoll have done is that we are a team now without obvious weakness.

Only th depth in certain areas leaves you worried.

Setting aside the Leeds and Villa errors, Henderson is an excellent keeper. I do worry if we had to rely on Moore though.

The defensive three are excellent as is proving by the current run of clean sheets. We also have Crainie and Stearman to bring in here, so quality depth. Enda's deputising for O'Connell has been a massive bonus.

We have at least 3 very good wingbacks and Johnson I would say is adequate but did ok vs West Brom. The first choice are mobile, take the game to the opposition and seldom get caught defensively.

Norwood and Fleck are an excellent pairing in terms of dictating play. I worry that Coutts will not get back to his prior level as back up. An absence here is where we are most vulnerable in my view.

In behind, Duffy, Dowell and possible McGoldrick all provide excellent support in the number 10 type role.

Up front, the forwards all bring something to the table.

I'm a lot more convinced with our options that that of Leeds for example. If Roofe doesn't return soon then there is a lot of pressure on Bamford. He's done well so far but could run out of steam.

Meanwhile we've rested Sharp in another routine home win.

Coutts hasn't deputised for Norwood in his best position yet (apart from the Barnet game where everybody was rubbish).
I'd be more than happy with him as cover for that position, losing Fleck for an extended period would be a bigger problem.
Lundstram would be ok for a few games there, maybe Dowell as another option depending on the opposition.
