It's time for you to guess the SUFC goal, based on the TV (or SUFC match) commentary from the time. Some famous, some obscure. I removed some opposition names to make it more tricky.

1. Agana, good footwork. Good cross, Roberts. Deane! And it's a goal, yeeessss!

2. It's 1-1, it's a cracker. What's going to happen next? Who knows. Will it fall favorably here for Brown? OOOOOOOHHHHHHH!!!!!

3. Curled in there. Cowan away and then it's Gannon. [--------] and [--------], oh, they've collided. Gannon, looks up. And Bryson's in the clear! A one-on-one with [-----]. Bryson. Saved! But Whitehouse is heeeeere!

4. This game is still in the balance. Sheffield United giving a good account of themselves here at [Stadium X]. Oh, off the post and in! Beautifully taken! Marcelo the scorer. 1-1!

5. Reece. Chance! Tudor again with the second one!

6. Kozluk delivering it in there. Oh it's in! Stephen Quinn! His first goal for the Blades!

7. Now, can Sheffield get a goal from this corner? It's a good header from Deane, and they have got a goal!

8. 10 minutes to go, [-------] aren't home and dry yet. And they're certainly not now, because Sheffield United are back in the game. And, would you believe, David Holdsworth having scored an own goal at one end has got his team back into it at the other.

Done without looking at the rest...

2 – the easiest, Brown at home to Wednesday in 2002/03
3 – Whitehouse at home to Wednesday in 1991/92
4 – Coventry away in the cup in 1998, though I've no memory of the goal itself just the celebration.
6 – home to Villa in 2007

Annoyed to not get the Holdsworth one...

#6 is correct.

7 is first PL goal. V Man U @ BL

Is 8 Villa in league cup?

6. I think Coventry at home in the cup quarter final??
3. smelly snortbeasts at home
4. sunderland away?
2. defo snort beasts at home

1, 5, 7 and 8 havent been correctly answered yet. I will have a try despite not being able to follow the commentary

1. Deano's hat trick clincher v Chester in Sept 1988
5. Tudor's 2nd goal v Bury in February 1969
7. Deane v Aldershot in May 1989
8. 2-1 defeat at Swindon in February 1997

I always thought Stephen Quinn's first goal for us was his free kick against Blackburn? in the Premiership.

8 is doing my head in, I can picture it in my head and thinking this is from the 96/97 season.

Yep, I reckon it's from spring 1997 – we seemed to have one or two on TV, this one I reckon was in the hideous purple/yellow halves shirt. Grimsby away? Were they even in the same division then?

We was away to Grimsby on Sky that year in the yellow & purple kit, think we won 4-2 with Whitehorse getting 2. I think you're right with it being away, I'm gonna take a guess at Reading? I think Holdsworths own goal was a diving header too

I think Silent is right. the Holdsworth goal is from the Swindon away game in 1996-7 when he scored at both ends.

Skip to 3:04. Best goal I've ever seen.

Just watched Brownie's goal again with tears of joy; absolute Blades legend for that and it allows him to be a total wanker at Port Vale for the rest of his life if he wants.

Without Pressman it would have been stopped at half time and being the first case of a game being abandoned due to the 'too many goals'.

Piggy Pressman always had a decent game against us until Kabba, Browny and the Chief turned up...

Nice work, Silent. #5 and #8 are correct.

#1 and #7 are still unclaimed though! In fairness, they are both incredibly obscure and you'd only get them by knowing the commentary from the season videos.

1. Deane vs Newcastle in the league cup, 1988.
2. Brown vs the Snortbeasts, 2003.
3. Whitehouse vs the Snortbeasts, 1991.
4. Marcelo vs Coventry (away) in the FA Cup, 1998.
5. Tudor vs Bury (a 5-0 win, not sure what year).
6. Quinn vs Villa, 2007.
7. Deane away at Oldham (a 2-1 defeat, but we scored whilst down to 9 men), 1992(?).
8. Holdsworth away at Swindon, 1997.
