If you mean galvanizing a club together then yes

Baffles me how any blade can have any bad feelings towards the bloke he’s what 70 odd and has a wife terminally ill while managing to get a club up to the Prem

The mans a legend and should be celebrated
 
He's about 70 percent a top level manager but doesn't seem to have the other 30 per cent required to be a full blown top level manager

His teams achieve much more than they should and the football is not as bad as some make out but it's not progressive ,fluid possession based which means the best players don't want to play for him

He’s never had the opportunity to manage a proper premier league team he’s always managed championship teams in the prem imo

He also exceeded expectations with ourselves and Cardiff in that division if we’re to be completely honest – neither team on paper could have been considered anything other than relegation-fodder. With QPR it was a similar story up until Fernandes’s takeover late into the transfer window, at which point Warnock went on a bit of an ill-fated panic spending spree. I heard Danny Gabbidon speak about that a few months ago – they had a late influx of cash, felt the need to spend it, and didn’t therefore have the time to make considered choices and went for whatever names were available. Warnock was of course moved on for Hughes despite not dropping into the relegation zone. He might have kept them up, and it was an excellent promotion he achieved with that QPR team, but he and they suffered from those poor transfers. At least with all his poor transfers with us we generally weren’t left significantly weakened financially from them.

For the record I don’t have any bad feelings towards him.

But legend? Nope. A very good manager of the lower leagues yes,

Im not dusagreeing with you per se, but come on. Let's at least remember the facts as they were and not make things up.

Cardiff were one of the favourites to go up the season they did (5th or 6th favourites with the bookies that season) and certainly not relegation material.

Warnock spent a bit of money at Utd in the pre season of 2005 on the likes of Ifill and Webber, and Unsworth... and he had the nucleus of fine home grown talent in Jags, Monty and Tonge and also captain Morgs he did well but lets not pretend it was a relegation squad on paper cos i think i cpuld have had that squad challenging...

When Warnock took over at Cardiff they were bottom he took them to a respectable 12th place. The following season they were far from favourites to go up

14 teams were shorter odds than Cardiff before the 17/18 season started according to...

I was talking about Cardiff being relegation-fodder this season (“in that division”). Odds on for finishing rock bottom. I repeat, despite relegation with us and them he exceeded expectations both seasons in the Prem. They’d been talk of us rivalling that Derby record for points – nowhere close.
 
A twat of the highest order, years ago Utd used to have a meet the manager event held at the lane. Out of these he was the only manager who made everybody feel uncomfortable in the room with his aggressive behaviour, made himself also look a twat again with trying to engineer a pay rise while threatening to leave us for Portsmouth which really never existed., And eventually gave the nation a good idea what he was like with his tantrum against the wolves manager live on tv. Utter twat!!

Perhaps he was on a wage which didn't represent his achievements with United, in which case why was he a twat to try to secure a bigger salary? Surely he was well within his rights as would anyone else in a similar situation. As long as he didn't take his eye off the ball with the team then no real issue. I don't know the detail of the situation so perhaps the way he initiated it or conducted himself was piss poor, no idea, but he's withon his rights to try to shoe-horn his personal momentum for more dosh.
Also, I get why people hated the tantrums and sour grapes...I personally loved that - he was committed, passionate and fucking hated losing. Not bad traits. CW has got plenty of flack for similar passionate rants both at sufc and elsewhere. (I actually think this might be the one thing that stops Chris from landing a 'top' job).

Only my thoughts.

No they weren’t. I bet on them to go up and got very good odds.
Nobody expected them to go up and if they did it was only because of Warnock.
 
Don't see why every thread that mentions Warnock must end up with arguments over his time at United and his achievements before and since. The views of most people who have an opinion are already known.

Wilder doesn't get any flak at all for flirting with Sunderland. If Warnock's interest in the Portsmouth job didn't affect the team (and there is no evidence it did) why go on about it? He wasn't the first manager to try and negotiate a pay rise on the back of on the field success and interest from elsewhere and he won't be the last.

Despite all the good times, some people just think he's a twat. Fair enough, but no need to bring it up at every opportunity.

For every story about Warnock being a twat, there's another about him being a decent bloke and a Blade. Ask the fans who went to Trinidad and Tobago or those who he chatted with in the pub.
