Pretty sure I just heard booing when we scored. Not sure that’s something I have ever done

Phil Sup Ball doing some research into why we hate the pigs. I give you exhibit A M'Lord.

I replied above & I'm replying again. I don't mean to single you out or aim my comments at you. You're just a convenient post to hang my comments on.
You make a simple point - here's some opposition fans celebrating/glorifying in/hoping for a broken leg for one of our players, that makes it easy to hate them. Albeit, that is on Twitter, and is a somewhat isolated comment, and, because it's Twitter, you don't really know if the person is much of a fan, goes to games, that sort of thing.
Yet, in the thread "of mine" which is mentioned, it seems that whole swathes, maybe thousands of Utd supporters, stood on The Shoreham, chanting about/celebrating/glorifying in a Wednesday player having their leg removed, and the replacement "floating down The Don" (river).
The point is, this stuff goes two ways.

Are you surprised about that? I'm not really sure what you are getting at here.

You mentioned the other ('your') thread about love turning to hate. I started going in 1970 and don't remember any of this 'love'. Through my Blades watching life, it is more a case of antipathy turning to hatred and I'm sure it's the same from where they sit.

Positives...

  1. We were the only side in it for the first 20 minutes.
  2. The spine of the side looked sound McCulloch, Lee and Borukov.
  3. The final whistle.
Having said that Sheppeard and Coutts were different class and we just couldn't cope.

I don’t get the point either, and don’t really care to be honest.

Hi mate. I'll just make one clarification on my From Love To Hate "thing"

I wasn't suggesting there was Love from United to Wednesday & it has now turned into Hate.
I was suggesting supporting United in the 60s & 70s seemed to me to be very much about Loving United. The chants were about us, our players, our club. I posed the question, have the chants now become more about Hating Them, than Loving Us. I don't for one second want to suggest there was any Love for Them. And, some people have helpfully pointed out the older Hate songs - iron lung, wooden leg, betting scandals, etc.

To be fair he got called out in the next post (on Porktalk where it appeared).
Those goals though, not as described by Wednesday twitter a penalty that wasn't and 2 mistakes from their players.

Maybe check out the chants before and after Boxing Day 1979 :(

No I wasn't. I was doing research into when & why SUFC Chants turned from loving Utd into hating Sheffield Wednesday. There are some people who have now gone full circle. They demonstrate how much they love their own team by one upmanship on who hates the other team the most. Pantomime.... the thread title includes "grunters" ... the posts are pig this, pig that ...
I'm FOR something, not AGAINST something
i'm FOR hating the classless bastards. ymmv ;)

One of the Youngsters signed into the Academy in the Summer. (As opposed to coming through the age groups from a nipper). Signed from Tadcaster Albion. He's sort of "U23 fringes". He'll get a shirt or a bench often. But, has to miss out every now & then. He's mainly been right wing back, occasionally midfield. It can take parachuted in players a little time to bed in & get up to speed in the professional set up. (Opinion) that's my view of what has happened to Harry. He's not particularly stood out for me in the games I've seen him in. Competent, few errors, does his bits. But doesn't make you sit up & shout "go on son". I'm looking forward to seeing if/how he progresses.
