In the late 60s I got a single seater bus from Worksop, and a kop ticket for 5 bob every other week, to watch Blades in the old first division. In 2013 I got a free ticket from my kids Gleadless school to watch England U-21s beat Scotland 6-0 at Bramall Lane. Sterling, Redmond, Barkley, Townsend et al
Twenty or so years ago, my older brothers lad went to every 3rd division away game on his own. We have, at various times been supporters and season ticket holders. It's a family thing.
The point is, the OP is correct. Whatever me and my family did back then, was pretty easy. I do not wish to undermine the marketing team, but they do need to adapt to modern circumstances and get their act together. It seems that the Liverpool game is a step i the right direction.
