Fucking students. Half of them doing pointless shit Degrees in Basket Weaving and Media Studies. Now there all here I can’t wait to walk around the town centre listening to the fucking arseholes saying ‘like’ in every fucking sentence. Twats.

Let’s hope they all fuck off then and take all of the money they spend within the city with them. Would only cost several hundred jobs...

My train was packed on the way here because of the students and northern rail being on strike!!!.
Got back to the station at 5:15 only to discover that my train was cancelled 5:40. Decided to wait for the 6:40 but that was also cancelled!( East Midlands trains). Had to get a train to Manchester only to find no trains going to Liverpool because of strike action!!. Just got home after a £55 taxi fare to Warrington and then my wife picked me up from there!!. It’s been a hell of a day but just glad we got the win!!!. UTB

Fair enough, I appreciate it does create jobs. My gripe is the Degrees that probably won’t add much to the country’s economy. Talked to a lass once who was doing a Degree in Tourism. Why not work in a Travel Agents and work your way up? Too much emphasis on Degrees in this country. I think it should be more about apprenticeships, which they do in Germany. For me Degrees should be for medicines, engineering, architects, vets etc.

i’ll refine that .. you should get grants for useful qualifications like the ones that you listed.. if you want to study womens studies then pay yourself

They do apprenticeships in England as well.

That used to be the case with some subjects. The current Tory government thought it wasn’t a good idea though.

(I feel like this should be off topic discussion, though I know it’s all been said before on there)

yes sorry :)
i’ll make it fuhrer directive 3 on the coup thread ;)

An hour and a half from M1 to city centre! Missed first ten minutes.

The Tourette’s was in overdrive

Is it beyond the wit of the EFL and/or the club to work out that we are a city centre club surrounded by student accommodation and a three o’clock kick off on the day they are all being dropped off is probably a recipe for disaster. It’s not like this is the first time this seems to happen virtually every year

This is the most Brexit comment of the day. Well done.

Got to admit there is an element of people in glass houses throwing stones about this whole thread.
My son is at Uni in Newcastle. The first thing I check when he goes back is are Newcastle at home. If they are I travel on the day they’re not playing be that Saturday or Sunday

How are they different o_O? I haven’t expressed any opinion other than to say we are already doing apprenticeships, like Germany.

I know we do apprenticeships in this country. In Germany the emphasis is more about apprenticeships for kids leaving school eg in the BMW car plants. I just think we should follow this model to improve our economy and manufacturing base. Other people will think differently, that’s fine by me.

Which is what’s happening. I’m not sure where we should ‘agree to disagree’. o_O

What an utter fucking joke it was getting to the match today.

‘Happy to help’ . Patronising twat. I appreciated your views without being clever about it. Every opinion I voiced was given a smart arsed reply.

No it wasn’t, you just read it that way. A little bit how I read your ‘we’ll agree to disagree’ and your ‘Ok’. The difference being that I don’t take it to heart.

You’ve made a point that we need to put more emphasis on apprenticeships, like Germany. I’ve told you that is what we’re doing. Instead of accepting that,
admitting to being wrong or trying to discuss it further you’ve just dismissed what I’ve said with your ‘Ok’.

Anyway, this is all getting a bit ‘off topic...’

No probs nor any difference in or out of Sheff today for us, we rarely park within a mile of a ground as its nearly always quicker to walk the last bit. We take the less obvious roads and not the sat nav routes everyone else uses.

Parkway a car park. Parked at top of Granville road at 13.30 having not moved for twenty mins. Absolutely bollocks. No time for a slutty rutty butty

Your first week at uni (Freshers’ Week) is just basically enrolling and going out boozing every night, so nothing new here. Week two is when the timetable of lectures and seminars start.

When I was a postgrad we called it FAFFY week - Fuck A Friendly First Year. That was 74-77, new stand, selling TC and relegation so we needed an outlet for our emotions!

Magic Days
