v Manchester United (a) 26.12.73. Holton allowed Connaughton's clearance to bounce over his head but Woodward - the leading first division marksman – reacted quickly enough to seize the chance, running on to draw Stepney and flick the ball wide of him for the late winner via the inside of the post.

v Coventry (a) 28.3.75. The match was in injury time and there proved to be twenty seconds left when Woodward, picking up the last pass from the masterly Currie, curved a superb shot up and over the busy penalty area into that deadly top corner which is so inaccessible for goalkeepers. United's manager Ken Furphy was in no doubt about the quality of it all; "It wasn't goal of the month", he said, "for me it was the goal of the century. For a player to take control in a situation like that, find the time to look up and put it there was just brilliant".

v Burnley (h) 2.10.76. Hamilton gained an indirect free kick inside Burnley's penalty area and when he touched a ball a yard to his right Woodward curved it beautifully over the defensive wall and beyond the goalkeeper and it dropped gently just inside the upright for as clever a goal as one could wish to see.

Edwards last minute winner against Wigan after being Kicked all over by Larry Lloyd , walking out of millmoor singing there’s only one Robert Atkins , Deans lob over the keeper away at Port vale and didn’t Beattie score in last minute against pigs with that free kick ?

Not sure if it was last minute or something like 87th minute but I enjoyed Billy's late winner at Peterborough.
We got a lot of late goals under both Bassett and Warnock.
Going back further, I remember Billy McEwan putting David Frain on against Sunderland after about 87 minutes in November 1986. I said to my mate "What's the point in sending him on now?" Frain then curled a beauty in at the Kop end in the last minute.
I said exactly the same to my mate!
What made it even sweeter was that I only went for the last 20 mins! My mates who, d paid were happy but pissed off at same time!

Certainly wasn't last minute, but Sharp away to Peterborough in the first Wilder promotion season was a big one

Not sure if it's been mentioned.

Was it Jags last minute long range strike against Boro? Promotion season?

Remember being in my seat on the Kop and seeing him running towards it and saying to a mate "ha Not a chance that" and sure enough, in it went.

Not Blades related but Beckhams freekick against Greece will always stand out for me

The Blades v Bristol City 1970-71 season.5-9-70 did Tudor score the third goal to make it 3-3. in the last min. I am sure Silent Blade will confirm.

Jags last minute long range strike was in the PL. Might be wrong but I think it gave us our first win.

He scored an identical one in the last minute against Leeds in 2002/03 which levelled the scores in an EFL Cup quarter final (or last 16). Ndlovu then followed this with a winner in stoppage time.

Before last night, when was our last 90+ minute Away winner? It's happened loads against us the last few years but can't remember ours!

The best ever last min goal. Sir Geoff Hurst's last min of the world cup final in extra time in 1966 make it a hat trick for Him. to make it 4-2.
The only player to score a hat trick in the world cup Final.
The legendary commentary by Kenneth Wolstenholme- Theys people on the pitch they think it,s all over.
Hurst smashes the ball into the net. it is now.

I remember a Tony philliskirk one v Barnsley away, I'd been slagging him off all game saying how crap he was then he scored the last min, inside I was jumping about but I made a point but not outwardly celebrating! 😂

It was in the premiership season, il always remember it because we were stood on our seats and about ten in a row collapsed, still not been fixed properly too this day!

Nope. Last minute clip over the keeper at bdtbl during our relegation season. Peter Hetherston hit the woodwork at least 3 times during that game
Did Peter Hetherston hit the woodwork at least 3 times during EVERY game he played ?!?

Continued that tradition on retirement by ‘hitting the bar’ in his alehouse in Coatbridge - lovely fella (even for) a Celtic fan😳

Does anyone remember three last minute goals against Gillingham
We were losing 1-0 in the 90th minute
My Partners son looked on Ladbrookes betting website and saw that United were 2000/1 to win
He put a quid on it for a laugh, United equalised and then robbed the ball off Gillingham from the kick off, they broke forward and scored again to lead 2-1.

Now there's goal celebrations and there's goal celebrations, he went ballistic, and everybody wondered what was wrong with him.
Then Gillingham kicked off, marched through our defence and equalised
What a kick in the stonks

Off the top of my head, I can think of at least 10 teams that have scored last minute winners at the Lane in recent times, could be more?

Millwall, Crewe, Bristol City, Cardiff, Reading, Huddersfield, Swansea, Leicester, Arsenal, Oldham

For us in the last 10 years? Last night.. one against Colchester ages ago?
