Grealish goes to Man City for north of £100 million do Aston Villa come calling with £35 million for Sander? If so if it's upfront no faffing about with this that and the other, do we take it??

Completely different type of player so I don’t think so.
If they wanted Berge as a holding player they’d be unlikely to be waiting to sell their best attacking midfielder to go for the deal. They’d be in for him already. They’re hardly strapped for cash with billionaire ownership.
They’ve signed Buendia already and are linked to Leon Bailey and we’re recently linked up Houssem Aouar. They all make more sense as attacking reinforcements after a potential Grealish departure.

and if anyone came up with £35m it’s not a question of do we take it. We have absolutely no choice to take it if his release clause is met.

Villa probably the sort of club that would want Berge, he's a very different player to Grealish but could be a good move for him. I can see Grealish staying at Villa for his entire career saying that. I actually really like Grealish as a person and player, he stayed loyal to Villa when many would want a move.

Hope Berge stays but my gut feeling is that his agent will be doing all he can to drum up interest and I would imagine that'll be a loan with a fixed fee at the end of the season if they want to buy him, whoever it is. Berge was always going to use us as a stepping stone it's just a shame that he's not being able to excel for us by in large due to injuries and playing in a team struggling last season.

Villa signing Leon Bailey to replace Grealish, seeing as he’s a winger.

Man city would ruin him personally as a player imo.

Playing in a dominant, possession-based team stacked with world class players aiming to win every competition they play in sure would ruin him.

Yeah, I agree that only someone who's a marvellous person would drink drive, attend an illegal party in lockdown, crash his car and then flee the scene before the police arrived. Top lad! Maybe he could have a career as a Conservative MP after his footballing days are over.

Villa have got Buendia haven't they?
Yes your correct however has been said different types, and could see Sander and Buendia, being two of a three at Villa. Also yes bang on, £35 million is the release clause what do we accept as a reasonable release figure? Part ex with Hourrahaine? £25 million in our favour

Totally different players. Berge is a box-to-box player. Grealish is an attacking flair player.

They've got John McGinn for the Berge role

i can see villa coming in for sander and if so seing as they will be flushed lets ask for 40m 😉

I like to see Grealish playing on the counter-attack, marauding forward over long distances. I'm also not sure that he's best suited to a team that spends it's time playing keep-ball, camped outside the opposition's box. I don't think it would necessarily ruin him as a player, but I think his skillset could be better suited elsewhere.

He's done some silly stuff, but I'm referring to him mainly for his commitment to Villa. I'm not going to defend previous stuff, but I agree with sentiment in regards to Conservative MP's!

If Villa wanted Berge they would already have him. Hence "Gone to Villa"

It's Villa, we tell them to get to fuck.

Agreed, sort of. I don't think Man City will ruin him, but i think he can do better things at Villa. Does he really need to move? Its not like he's on crap money and Villa are establishing themselves as a Premier League team. They won't make the Champions League any time soon, but could go for Europa if they push on...
