I realise that Blades may be increasingly concerned with our ongoing slump, but watching Football Focus and Final Score (sad I know), I don't get the media love-in between the Beeb and Brizzle's "massive". They're presented as some sort of "sleeping giant" who've been in the doldrums for a long time and are somehow on the verge of a return to their rightful place! I get this with Huddersfield, and good luck to 'em (like us they have a proud, if rather ancient, history), but Bristol City????? Am I being a paranoid Northerner, or is it easier for the Beeb (and other media) to cosy up to this lot, rather than recognise our achievement over the past two years, Brizzle being a trendy rich city, and Sheffield being, well, Sheffield? This has nowt to do with us having lost (unluckily) to them, as I think the BBCFC love-in would have happened if we'd won! I know it doesn't matter, and I do like being a "chippy Northerner", but seemingly nowt we do ever gets recognised (unless it's negative) and it cheeses me off at times. There, I've said it!

We’ve had loads of media coverage this season, just after we went top of the league after beating Leeds we were getting coverage everywhere. Too much if anything, and I personally think its contributed a little to our downfall, together with the injuries and suspensions.

Ever since we had our own media love in 5 weeks ago our season has turned to shit! Just hoping everyone can go back to forgetting about us and we can start moving back up the table.

Good point. Like I said, I'm a paranoid Northerner so I like to ignore any positive attention we get, as that helps me to validate my position! I don't actually mind us getting no media attention, I just can't understand why they give so much to Brizzle City? Ipswich are on a great run, but they don't seem to get the same attention. Ah, worked it out - their manager is a dour Yorkshireman! I'll shut up now!

Bristol is a large city which has had two vastly underperforming clubs for a long time. They've a large potential fanbase, not that far from London and it's a nice city.

We talk about Sheffield deserving to have clubs in the top flight, but both ourselves and Wednesday have been periodically. The Bristol teams have been so woeful for so long.

As someone who lives near Brizza, although it’s ok it’s quite a backward place in lots of ways and a football back water, with a big rugby interest in the city. And as for the support, just 20,000 at the Grate today; we took over 5k to PNE. Hard working team like us with no superstars, will have a blip like us at some point. Wilder mentioned the key word today, consistency. UTB
