Loan duo return

Marcus Bent and Nyron Nosworthy have left Sheffield United and returned to their clubs.

Micky Adams confirmed after the game at Preston that the pair who had been on loan had been released from their loan deals and gone back to Birmingham City and Sunderland respectively:

"I won't decry anything that they have done and thank them for their efforts with us. But recently we have wanted to get one or two younger players onto the bench to see what they can do, and we can't do that if it is clogged with loan players."

About bloody time they are two useless pricks that should never of been signed. Those two will be lucky to find another club because I bet Sunlan and Brummy will release them if they have seen the shit performances they have put in for us.

Now if we can show some more players the door the better.

Sunderland are only five points off the drop zone. If Nosworthy reappears in their squad, might be worth a punt on them being relegated

Absolute fuckin garbage the pair of em.
It's a fuckin joke that this wasn't done 6 weeks ago as Norfolk says above. MA's not fuckin blind surely? He should have had the bollocks to blood the youngsters a lot sooner than now.

What the fuck did Bent do other than take a decent salary and fill the space of a player who had a better chance of scoring?

Good riddance to bad rubbish. The signing of Bent in particular was nuts.

30+, past their best, no hunger left, very expensive and on loan. It's the sort of signings desperate clubs bring in. Hopefully we'll recruit differently from now on.

disgraceful signings the pair of them.

I said all along that we have been fed bullshit,

no more loans was mccabes mantra last season at season ticket time.

He must of picked that spin off Strafford/Wednesday.

Churn out a peice of crap like that and hope it makes few more people renew.

Agreed, but I could see the logic of bringing Bent in at the time. He played very well in his first game, but needed a goal and needed fitness. He was a gamble that didn't pay off at all. We were and are a desperate club so desperate measures were taken

Don't want to pick too much into this, but I think McCabe said we shouldn't be relying on loans rather than no more loans (but i could be wrong).

The problem was that when you sack your manager at the end of the August Transfer deadline, then lose you manager in December and the replacement has just a month to assess the squad and make panic buys like Collins and perhaps Doyle then you leave yourself with no option but to bring in loanees.

As we've found with Collins he's not good enough and the loans of Lowry and Mattock are just as good.

Nosworthy was just an odd signing, although even last season he wasn't as bad as he has been this season.

We have to accept that loanees are always going to play a part. We just have to find the ones like Bartley, Reid, Riise, Lowry, Mattock and Vokes and not Bent, Wright and Nosworthy. But importantly not rely on loanees... That means better planning with the team management.

Still shocked at how shocking Nosworthy was

Usually 1 crucial tackle a match, but Nos was a lot worse this season.

The logic in signing Collins was sound enough, but very few Mid-season signings are of true quality and I would say we did as well as we could.

My hope is that Simmo is on his way and we can get back to building a defensive unit that can stay together and be confident together. For a senior pro he has very little command of his area and like so many is just not vocal enough.

Craft and graft in midfield is our biggest dilemma though and pace with a quality final touch or cross needs to be found. Can't claim to know much about the Development Squad or Youth Team, but these seem to be attributes we lack at all levels if the clips on the big screen are anything to go by.

Bet their native team mates are taking the p*ss out of the useless pair this morning, imagine the banter "you've been bombed out of United and they're about to drop, how shi* are you!!"
