Goalscoring CM.

But you brought the tags up in response to the suggestion you'd put it in the wrong place.

I'm not upset about it, I'm just asking why you brought it up. It's a strange thing to say.

My theory is that you can't stand to be wrong about anything, no matter how pathetically small or trivial.

Perhaps he’d be a good option if we are to play 4231. Similar to George Moncur.

If it’s 2 up top, I’d be inclined to stick with Fleck and Basham as the main CMs with Whiteman and Reed as back up and maybe even a game or two in the fleeting moments in which James Wallace is fit.

I know Pinchy won’t like this last paragraph but neither Basham or Fleck are specialist defensive or attacking midfielders, both seem to be all rounders of sorts which seems to suit a relatively flat 442 formation. I think we could only have a more attacking midfielder in there if we sacrificed a striker or replaced one of Basham or Fleck with a specialist defensive midfielder to allow the new man more license to attack (a la McCall and Brown). With what we have, I see us setting up more like how we did in our promotion season with Jags and Monty as the main 2 in the middle.

I'm not well versed enough in the politics of S2 and who's who yet. I just routinely reply to the post on it's individual merits and for me, regardless of who the chuff Barney is (no offence mate). He raises a good point and a goal scoring CM is something we desperately need. There's a phrase that did the rounds on BM, 'play the post, not the poster' - it stands true here, it doesn't really matter if he missed a prefix, does it?!

I'd put getting a goal scoring mid above getting a target man as the second major priority after a new centre half, because at least we have plenty of quality up front without any of them representing a 'plan B' target man. In centre mid, we have neither enough bodies nor enough quality. I don't know enough about viable targets though...

Nail on the head there. In my opinion it will be the difference between getting promotion and missing out.

Worryingly, it doesn't seem as though Wilder is treating the position as importantly as he needs to be.

But as the window hasn't shut yet, I will reserve judgement.

That last paragraph spared you a good S24SU flaming.

The subject is very interesting. That's not what I am referring to though is it?

Keef C said the post wasn't a rumour, implying it was is the wrong place. Barney said it was only place with player suggestion tags. He was then asked why he didn't use said tags, if that was the thought process, to which he replied he was asking for suggestions, not making them.

So what is the relevance of the suggestion tags? Why did he bring them up?
Do you have all you tins of beans lined up in rows, in chronological (sell by date) order with label facing front & square in your kitchen cupboard (labelled 'pulses')?

I know someone that does that...

... whenever I kip at his place after a night out, I wake up early and rearrange them all for him. I'm nice like that.

Jason Holt averaged 1 in 3 for us in a shit side. He might not have done much else but he knew where the goal was.
Holt looked decent, but was another Scottish midget. He was like Scoogs when we first got him. Wouldn't have been ideal in the middle of a 4 because there wouldn't have been enough height or muscle i think. Possibly would have been good behind a front two with three behind him.

And whenever he kips at your place he sticks your toothbrush up his arse. He's nice like that.
