After 6 games, we have scored 7 goals, all from different players. Conceded only 6 goals, which is among the best records in the division so far.

Wilder has bought mostly attacking players in the summer, so is clearly confident about our defence and the depth there.
Our attacking line ups have changed around quite a bit. Horses for courses? Unsure of our best pairings? Injuries and suspensions?
He certainly has his hands full integrating new lads and picking the best team for the opposition, home or away.
Midfield fairly settled apart from the injury to Fleck, so that seems to be another constant. When will he get the front line sorted out. Does he have favourites, like the choice of McGoldrick being a shoe in if he's fit? Is Moose fit for 90 minutes yet?
My view is that he will not get any strike partnerships firing, until the midfield have a link man playing in that number 10 slot. Should that be McGoldrick, Luke Freeman, Robinson or someone else. Morrison perhaps.

This conclusion is brought about by criticism and dissatisfaction levelled at McBurnie, Robinson and McGoldrick being played in the strike role. Not enough action in the link play between midfield and forwards, whoever gets picked to play up front.
A flat three in midfield, plus reluctance to overlap, is heading towards a hoof it policy, expecting greater pace from strikers and diluting the Wilder formula.
The link man is essential to a more cautious, but still attack minded game. Something tactical has to give, to get us scoring more goals.

You can chalk at least 4 of those goals as resulting from our own mistakes as well.

If we'd cut the mistakes out, we'd have more points.

We should have also had a penalty against Southampton, and the winner Leicester scored should have been ruled out for a push on Egan in the build up.

Agree. It's either this, or stick Mousset in and hope his pace solves everything.

I'm not sure our current way is sustainable.

As current top scorer, Oggie would like a word

Don't ignore the quality we are now playing against. If we don't have the ball it doesn't matter who is up front.

Still not sure Mousset hasn't got 2, if the PL can credit Mahrez with a goal for a freekick that was going wide before it hit the wall I'm sure they can allow Mousset for the effort he put in against Chelsea.

any criticism of Didsy or any of the front lads is absolutely disgraceful imho ,, now, i love a good scapegoat myself as it happens but there is noone not pulling their weight in this squad. (which is a bummer if you are a slasher i know)

Leon's been a bit sluggish recently, mind...

Either a link man some someone who can run beyond the front two when we are attacking therefore creating the extra forward. In a similar mode to Mike Trusson.

The criticism i refer to is from blades fans on here.
My finger is pointing at Wilder. Maybe I'm being harsh, or as usual, he knows best. Just because he's brilliant doesn't mean I can't disagree with him. :)

Never mind Oggie, how about Subbie? How many of those goals (that our own players scored) came from subs? 4 out of 5 i think? Not that it matters, they all count.

Imo we either play with Freeman in the middle or if we insist on a flat mid 3, didsy has to play. Otherwise we don't create enough
