If Kevin Blackwell had any self respect he would hand in his resignation immediately.
The man is a loser and his reprofile of the squad is abysmal.
The squad is now smaller, weaker, less talented and top heavy with loans and will never be in a position to challenge for promotion.
After Blackpool, Blackwell stated 'I'm not worried' well HE BLOODY WELL SHOULD BE IF THE TRIPE SERVED UP AT SCUNNY AND BLACKPOOL IS HIS IDEA OF FOOTBALL!
The man is clearly not up to the calibre we would expect to lead the Blades - Resign Mr Blackwell NOW!

Don't sit on the fence son, tell us what you really think.

Go Now Blackwell Before Its too late

hi just thought i reply to this post as i think from an outsider looking in i think its time you got rid of your manager

the reasons are

1 he doesn't seem able to change tactics

2 he doesn't seem to be able to admit his faults and thats he is wrong

i no i am only new here and there for have a long way to go but as one supporter who has had hard times supporting the club i do

i can say this your manager reminds me a lot of peter reid our old boss and in the end Reid had to go because simply he had past his time and was out of touch

the fact of the matter is blades that you all no this because your all smart people that the long ball game no longer works it certainly doesn't in the premiership

and it seems that it doesn't in the championship

you need to get the pass and move game going at your club and i think its a great club by the way

but if you want to play at the top you need to act like it in the championship that's how since Reid we have never finished below 3rd because of the standard

Blackwell needs to go before instead of being the good club you are you will be looking over your shoulders

and you don't want that !

all the best for the rest of the season

Got to agree with you there Mav.

I think our fans have been saying this since midway through last season as well to be honest, the difference was, we had a decent size squad then and could results out of it but it was never gonna last forever. The comparison between Blackwell's time at Leeds and his time here are becoming alarmingly similar.

For me, Blackwell's picked up all the bad habits from his pre decessors Neil Warnock and Peter Reid. Once again, also add in that his assistant Sam Ellis who he has worked with throughout his managerial career also worked with Graham Taylor at Watford and Peter Reid himself at Manchester City.

I said this before and I will say it again we need to change the whole football philosophy at this club.

The only reason why the long ball doesnt work in the prem is because its called direct football any time a good team does it.

not especially but when we do it, its crap long ball, when Manure do it its a brilliant piece of direct football.

I do think theres a time and a place for it but our problem is we've gone too one dimensional as injuries have stopped us playing any other way.

I agree with the above but Blackpool and Scunthorpe have shown us with average squads what they are capable of, for me it's about using your posession of the ball wisely. We do have a good amount of posession but aren't making it count.

Off the ball we do usually work very hard to win it back but at times we are so wasteful with possession to the point when teams counter attack us with pace (something we lack right now) we lose our shape completely and get punished.

May be wrong there and feel free to correct me but from what I've seen that's how I feel about how we play the game at the moment.

do you not think it better to pass and move the ball around the pitch that's what most teams in the premiership do keep the ball pass it when you can get it out to the wings etc we do have Jones up front so we can go long ball but i think to get better results keeping the ball and passing it is the best way forward instead of the big kick long from the back 4 to the front two unless your really good it doesn't work and the other team just come back on you

and at the moment for united long ball isn't working

Ahh - but you need to understand that we have to keep the ball in the air as much as possible in order to keep the turf in good condition for the Sheffield Eagles when they start using the Lane :D

 you got a point there

Dont get me wrong Im not a big fan of long ball atall, I cant stand David Beckham because i dont like his style of play as its very direct and can take good players out of the game as the ball flys over their heads.

I like the ball to be passed to a pacey winger who can run at defenders and beat them then get a shot off or a decent short pass. I used to love Paul Devlin when we had him as thats exactly what he used to do.

Anyway my point is that the long ball can still be effective if you can mix it up abit but as we have no other options at the moment all the teams know exactly what we're going to do and are ready for it. As we have no pace in the team at the moment we just dont have much choice. I dont really blame Blackwell for this though just bad luck with injuries. In my mind he saw that the problem with our team was lack of pace and tried to address that in the summer.

And what do you know about SUFC?

Think on Mackem, it's nowt to do with you.

Just thought I would chip in here.

He may not know as much as us Blades fans about our team, but he knows enough to be able to have his opinion on the team. I welcome debate from other supproters, Maverick actually has a bit of a soft spot for the Blades himself and I think that's great considering the negative press we have recieved in the past due to the likes of Neil Warnock, Chris Morgan Iain Hume incident and of course the Carlos Tevez affair (however unjustified the whole scandal was).

After all, his team's actually managed to achieve something we have never done and that's win the Championship title (three times in the last decade). His team actually plays decent football and can attract the best of the best. His team has a decent honest chairman in charge who happened to also be a legend for them as a player. When it comes to knowing about proper football, I think he knows more than we do.

We should be learning off the likes of Sunderland after all 13 years ago they were playing at Roker Park which was similar to how Bramall Lane once was before the redevelopments took place. I can see a bit of a similarity between the old Sunderland and the current Sheffield United set up.

I can see some Blades fans attacking me here or telling me to go and support Sunderland and if that's how you feel then fair enough but I am a proud Blades fan and like all of you I just want what's best for our club.

Let's welcome comments from other fans, it's not like hes a WUM or anything. :D

i can agree with that post there that's how the game should be played devlin great player in his day

But he does have a point.

One of the few times we have looked pretty reasonable this season was in the 1-1 draw against Doncaster. In that game we played mainly on the ground and we actually passed through midfield.
