The chest thumping, Yorkshire grit style is more about galvanising/ uniting the fanbase.
Our best managers have been Bassett, Wilder and Wilder, all 3 have very similar personalities and presentation/ communication styles.
Also their pre and post match interviews were comforting to the fanbase because you could see that all 3 were passionate and hurting.
So no players would be allowed to coast and have an easy ride. The general Blades culture has been our fans don't mind seeing limited players
as long as they appear to care and give 100%.

Imagine if we appointed a manager with no charisma like Gareth Southgate, even if we were winning, don't think our fans would take to him.
His pre and post match interviews would be demoralising before we've even kicked a ball.

Just a quick note mate, we've seen this schtick before numerous times, and yes we will get tired of it before you, but you will also get bored of it as well, just like other "characters" did, the first sign of it getting boring is having to insult people for attention..

This is a lovely rant, some of what you say is spot on, Egan could end up at Stoke possibly Mcburnie as well, and if they do it won't be long before they endeer themselves to thier fans with badge kissing and the like, they do it for the adrenalin that they get when the crowd reacts..

Most footballers don't support the team they play for, its the same with managers, Warnock was a unitedite, but says the best fans were Palace, Cardiff, Qpr, Huddersfield, etc, "when he was at each club".

Yorkshire grit isn't anything to do with millionaire footballers driving lamboughinis to training, it's more like working more hours and going without so you can scrape enough together for a cheap holiday for the family.

Took a few cheap and cheerful holidays with friends and our children while they were growing up in benedorm and other places that some frown upon, salou etc.

Glad you enjoyed it mate, like I say not for me, people put me off it, for every good person like yourself there is another disgusting pack of chavs.

I personally don’t mind the rain so I don’t, I’ve lived in a hot country before for a while so I have and you start to despise the heat. We don’t appreciate how good and pleasant the climate is in the UK.
