They didn't address two major areas of concern over the summer with the usual idea of expecting the manager to polish a turd. The very fact that they can't challenge for automatic promotion in the third division is pitiful.

They ought to give up and reassess their long term objective because they're not capable of achieving their current one. Perhaps consolidation at this level is the way forward. We're making a good job of that currently.

If there's one thing I learned about Sheffield United it's to set the bar low. That way you won't be disappointed all the time. My heart goes out to all of you that still turn out for that shower every game. I'm glad it's too difficult for me to bother.

This one. Crazy to hear fans slating him already. Can't change the past, but we can use past mistakes to our advantage
I dont want us to get rid of this manager either i think he is our best chance of getting out of this shittank league

But people moaning about not keeping managers on must surely have been happy with robson or weir getting a couple more years to implement their plans

So let's get this right. Because we haven't addressed two major areas of concern over the summer you think it will now take us 5 years to rectify it despite the fact you don't watch us
5 years? Really??
Drama queen
Please tell me what you base your 5 year assumption on

I like how you use our two worst managers in the past decade or two as examples. In recent times I wouldn't have sacked warnock, Blackwell, Wilson, clough. The latter is still open but absolutely no good came from sacking the others.

I'm just glad we sold Harry Maguire. What a great deal. Who cares that our defence can't do anything at all?

I used them to illustrate a point BECAUSE they were the worst
Or do only the good ones deserve more time ? The succesful ones who dont get sack ?

Ooh gets a bit complicated now doesnt it ?

You seem to not grasp the severity of building a new team (which we will have to do next season due to the number of players out of contact) in the third division instead of the second.

Wish I had your faith in a squad of third division football players on 2\3 year contracts dragging us out of this league.

We really do need to build a second division team next season. Can't remember when we had so many contracts ending in one season. Lots like Charlton a few years back.

The last 5 years?

Still no reason just to give up on the club is it. Fuck where we are in 5 years or where we were 5 years ago stick with em.

The trouble with us is that there is never a clean break. We bring in a new manager which 99% were happy with yet we let the present be clouded by the past few years. It's alright calling for change but we never seem to embrace it. It doesn't happen overnight 15 games in and it's doom and gloom. We're in a promotion race which ends in may yet we seem to be waving the white flag.

When you say we do you mean you and the rest of the board jim ?

If you finish last in the Grand Prix you were still in the race. We're shit and this squad is nowhere near good enough to get us up

It is great to be able to say give them time over and over again but when you get your Senior season ticket it really does bring it home to you that time is running out for your dream of seeing this club winning a trophy, the older you get the less time you are prepared to give them.

Jesus you sound like you've given up. My point exactly.

2 wins from an automatic spot, I think we are challenging, just need a couple of things to click in my opinion.

Are we honestly going to go into suicide mode every time we have a bad result?

How many of you looked at the fixtures pre-season and saw this as a game we might lose? I certainly did and when the day finally came we didn't deserve to lose it.One fluke of a goal and another that was deflected in off the keeper. Add a cretin of a referee to the mix and it's only going to end one way.

We shot ourselves in the foot against Gillingham, Colchester and Port Vale. None of our other results have shocked me to be honest, it's a very open and very terrible league this season.

Adkins will get it right, as long as the board back him.

We won't be going up this season in my humble opinion, but yes sacking Adkins would make us a total laughing stock. A major rebuilding job was required before the start of this season which was never going to happen, takes time unfortunately, and money which we don't seem to have much of. NA now has to spend the rest of this season trying to build a solid foundation for giving it another go next season. Would be amazed if any signings in January would transform this side into one that would seriously challenge for promotion, although I'm expecting the usual flurry of signings

You weren't shocked that Bury turned us over, really?

The players are the ones waving the white flag KONigel , we're just reacting to it.

I think we're 2 signings off automatic. That with the return of Edgar, Harris and Brayford. We need an experienced CB and RW.

Agree about being twoish players off a good squad, it's the fact that we were in that position in June and we all knew that does my bonce in.

Not in the slightest. They have scored a lot of goals and have recruited well. They will finish top 6.

Doesn't mean I wasn't pissed off but I want surprised.

Nothing dramatic about my comments although brave of you to type insults from all the way over there.

I've watched plenty of games this season despite where I live. I stopped making the trip a few weeks back because I see the same pattern emerging again and today was further proof of it.

Like a small minority of our supporters you're failing to grasp the price of another failure this season. Having lost our best players year after year you would think history would teach you something but no. I'm sure the likes of Che Adams would love to stick around for another push at League One next term. It will be made all the more straight forward when our manager becomes the latest fall guy for the circus that is SUFC.

Spend less time calling people a drama queen and more time taking a dose of reality.

Malaise forever.

Not aimed at you Stretch but not being surprised at being turned over by Bury is quite a sad affair.

I know it's grim but I genuinely laughed myself to tears at that post. Completely agree with you but it's borderline hilarious/depressing that such things don't surprise our supporters anymore.

I have to go dry my eyes now.
