Our midfield leaks like a sieve that puts constant pressure on our backline. Get Ampadu in centre midfield and Bogle on the right and then maybe we can get a clean sheet. Going forward Bogle, Bash and Baldock will give it a go and on the left we have (not much) the Robinson long throw and one or two crosses from Stevens.

I thought Ampadu was in cm?
I agree re Bogle but the left hand side is the biggest problem
 
No idea... get a midfield that actually works.
 
Get a midfielder that knows how to take the ball forward and is not frightened on attacking the opponents to create the chances. All we are doing at the moment is squaring the ball or going backwards and having to start again from the back. Until Wilder sorts the midfield matter out we aren't going to score enough goals to win a game.
 
Drag Gareth Barry out of retirement.

Seriously he would be an improvement.
 
The midfield needs major surgery

And getting players in that can tackle isn't the only issue

If we get players that can tackle we end up with Nick Montgomery's because as far as this club is concerned players only have one attribute
 
Bogle did great when he came on last week. But his natural position is in defence, can he adapt to being there, or will it tend to make midfield too defensive? If he can great, he earned a place.
 
Tackling has become an endangered art form. Lunny's straight red tackle at Brighton wouldn't even have been judged a foul a few years back.

Now it's more a case of knowing how to cover back and maybe hustle someone off the ball.

Add to that the prevalence of Oscar candidate squealing Tom Daleys on whom you have to be careful not to breathe too heavily.....
 
Sign Mo Besic. I like Osborn but his running around a lot is not offering much. I’d rather Besic show some bite in the middle.
 
Sign Besic and a new player who can function as a CAM.

Then give Bogle a run in the box to box role.

Straight away the midfield is massively improved and we might actually keep hold of the ball from time to time.

The defence needs a break, at the moment the ball is just coming straight back at them.

Jack Wilshere on a pay per game deal until the end of the season, to see if he fancies a go at getting on the plane for the Euros

Him and Brewster could work well together.

I don’t think he’d get a ticket for the Euros with Covid and all that.

No it isn’t. Derby signed him as a right side midfield player from Swindon. Lumpard converted him to right back.
 
Besic seemed (to me) to be a good all rounder but given Lunnys red I'm not sure he'd stay on the pitch long. That's if we got him back of course. He can certainly tackle and has more energy that a rabbit on coke!

All we need are midfielders that can tackle, midfielders that can create, defenders that can defend, strikers that can score and a goalie that doesn't drop clangers and we'll be buzzing

I can’t understand why after Bogle scored one deflected goal, he’s suddenly the answer to our midfield problems.

He’s not even a midfielder for a start.
 
The midfield is without a doubt our greatest area of the field that needs improvement. We seem to play many games this season without one. It’s been so ineffective both from an attacking and defensive point of view.
 
Lunnys tackle was fine, 20 years ago..

Anybody else think we need to start playing the game re challenges, didsy got leathered the other day just took it, no free kick, no foul, grealish would be writing his obituary as he rolled off into the sunset, he'd have got the free kick.

We don't benefit from the powder puff cheating being plucky northerners, but we can get sent off for it, there's a reason they all do it in this division, we could get around the ref a bit more, stop on the floor, hopefully we don't resort to fake screaming like Leicester City and Villa seem to enjoy..

This leagues fucked VAR, the diving rolling and cheating, fucking god knows why I want us to stop up..
 
it shows how bad our midfield is when an average premier league player in tom davies can run midfield nobody got near him all night mind his movement was very good constantly finding space and always making himself available for a pass whereas our midfield are static most of the time
 
Hello Robbie here (lool) Mo Besic was a funny one coz he went back to Everton very quietly.................just my opinion but i think something went on with Wilder. But i for one would take him back, good committed player!

Ok, my next question is...............why did we sign Verrips if 1. he's not good enough or 2. there is some legal shite if we play him? Discuss
