Get Neil

Because NO Blade, I repeat NO Blade, would ever chant that mans name unless it was in a derogatory and defaming manner. Besides, look at what has happened with Wilson. Left swine cottage 11 years before we appointed him, never had any issues with United in the intervening period, unlike the man with a face only a mother could love. But look at the reaction it got. Megson, in my opinion, would not have made it to the managers office, never mind have us 10 points clear at the top of the fucking third division.

Agree. Wilson played for them and managed them but he isn't a pig. In the same way Quinn, Geary, Bromby etc played for the pigs but turned it around. Megson is pig born and in-bred.

warnock made kyle walker world class.. yeah fuck off neil:fatbastard:
that, with all of the sniping at us.. 'best bunch of lads i ever worked with'.. 'qpr are best fans'.. and his utterly classless comments about van Persie means i can't understand where some of you are coming from.. oh yeah its that united thing isn't it.. get micheal brown back.. jags back.. kyle walker on loan.. neil back.. we've moved on.. wilson is doing a great job and has managed to halt the downward spiral that neil 'humble to be here' started

i see neil is complaining that the QPR directors were,nt supportive enough..........could the directors reviewed neil,s spending spree when united went upto the premier league ?

Either that or they wonder who sanctioned whatever sick pay Kieran Dyer is currently on, and note that Ferdinand is not actually very good. Maybe Geoff Horsfield is top of his JTW list.

>Sorry, but thats bollocks
well he got us relegated so surely that is a downward direction??

So did Bassett. He also got us up there in the first place. And we made a better fist of it than most expected (I remember worries we would 'do a Sunderland') and the points total we did get would have kept us up in most other years.

I really wish people would stop the hero worship and forget how many points we got. WE WENT DOWN. Doesn't matter if its 10 or 50 points. Our relegation should never have happened and its down to Warnock that it did. Shelton, Fathi, Seck, Kilgallon and Stead rather than getting a quality signing like BT. One of the reasons QPR have sacked him now is because he can't get players in to keep clubs in the division.

Fact is, whether you like the man or not, he has spent 2 1/2 seasons in the Premiership/Division 1 and each time he has completed a season he has taken a team down. And QPR have given themselves a chance by firing him.

If you are going to give the man the credit for promotion you HAVE to give him the blame for our relegation. What happened after that only made things worse but Warnock started the ball rolling in that now famous January transfer window.

Oh and he got us there in the first place. Yes he did and credit to him for it. But anyone remember him almost leaving at the time of our most important home fixture that season against the pork? Problem with Neil is it always has to be him in the centre, rather than him as part of a greater team. Which is what true great managers manage to do.

As for comparing him the the greatest manager we have had in recent times. Don't do it. DB got us promoted on a shoe string and kept us there against all the odds. Boardroom upheaval, transfer embargos and having his best players sold from under him were daily occurrances for Bassett. Please don't compare the two because you tarnish the reputation of one of our best ever managers.

The one person who reminds me of warnock when it comes to being centre of attention and their opinion being the only opinion is you whenever warnock or mccabes name pops up on here

Warnock kept banging on that we needed a point a game to stay up which is exactly what we got. For a man with a big mouth he sure didn't have too much ambition for us.

I really wish people would stop the hero worship...

Im not, Im simply trying to balance the amount of abuse he gets on here. Yes, thats right, the bloke who took a two bob football club to the Premiership via cup semi finals and brought in some great players along the way gets abuse. Our fans amaze me sometimes.

Thanks for this thread, reminds me of one of the reasons i had to stop going every week.

>Yes, thats right, the bloke who took a two bob football club
two bob club??.. it's treason.. treason i say :D .. on our average attendance figures alone we should be lower premiership at least ..massive in fact :D

> brought in some great players along the way
and some right shite as well.. he had a scattergun approach at best..

>Our fans amaze me sometimes.
maybe because some of us are realists.. personally i never liked the guy anyway.. it was always about 'him'.. all of that ranting at match officials (even if we won.. which of course shifted the attention to him) is what got us relegated.. 'apparently' referees are only human after all and they've never done us any favours at the time or since.. he was ok .. but not the messiah some make him out to be

He kept us in the division, gave us some great cup runs, and eventually got us promoted. For that, I think he was/is a very good manager.

But he's still a bit of a twat.

I think the abuse Blackwell gets is worse given what he acheived compared to his immediate predecessor and immediate successors.

Think of our attendances before Warnock and after Warnock.

Indeed but when you pay peanuts youre going to end up employing a few monkeys.

That's quite a good summary of Warnock's tenure at United and at QPR too with regard to signings. Some have been brilliant and very inspired - Brown, Kenny, Shipperley and others - while some were strange and some just downright bizarre. He also managed to sign players and then very quickly fall out with them - Cullip, Hayles, Horsefield.

Some of the signings he made in the January of the Premier league season were supposedly "for the future" when what we need was players for "now". It's as if they were signed with the firm belief that we were going to get relegated.

Warnock on the whole was a success but not the genius some would paint him to be.

And loads of other managers would have taken us up in less than 7 years. They also wouldn't have bought in the scores of crap players along the way. If Jags hadn't popped up with a wonder goal he may have got sacked soon after.

Having said we did have some good times and it would be stupid not to recognise and respect that.

The downward spiral started around the December January of the promotion season after which performaces and results (especially against decent teams) dipped and we never really got going again.

If he wasn't seen as a Blade and kidded the majority with his spin then he probably would've have been sacked well before the promotion season.

But which amazes you more, a)the abuse he receives from some or b)that some others would have him back to replace a man who has us in the automatic spots with a team very similar to one that looked completely clueless last season?

I would have thought that a thread calling for the second was always going to bring out those who didn't like him and produce a lot of the first.

just look at the slack jawed awestruck loved up gazes the pigs bestow upon smegson and then look at the way we treat even our most succesful of managers

Really? Like Kendall? Spackman? Bruce? Heath? Robson? Blackwell? Speed? Adams?

Both are a bit potty.

We've been promoted from the second tier twice in the last 35 years, doesn't seem easy.

In his 7,5 years here Warnock built a great side twice. 2002/03, and 2005/06. Let's not forget that the former was a fantastic season where we finished third and only an awful first 45 minutes of the play off final denied us promotion.
