Whoever gets the job tmrw, most likely Wilson, let's get behind him, he was at Wednesday over 10 years ago, get over it people.

The club, the new gaffer and the new/remaining players need our support, alot of posters on here have been very quick to give it "I want a refund" "let's protest" give the bloke a chance. It's our club, and it needs us more than ever.

I'll be there for the the first game and will get to as many games as uni/cash permits. I'd kill for a season ticket for next year, and some of you are considering sacking it off, if anyone has bought one, and doesn't want it, private message me and I'll gladly take it off your hands.

Let's get behind them and not let out neighbours drag us to their level.

Fuck it, he might be the best person around at the moment willing to take us on based on our needs/criteria. I'm sure within 20 mins of the first game some monkey will be trying to put together a sentence along the lines of 'just f off you pig' if we're not 3-0 up. But I've been a blade when he played for them. I've been a blade when he managed them. I'm gonna be a blade when he manages us it seems. I'm really not feeling the pain here. Whoever we got, half this board would be up in arms. Let's see what happens. He might see the light and see the way forward is red and White. He might teach us to pass and move. The aforementioned monkey will be hollering for us to get it in the box just as he moaned when it was our only aimless tactic. We can't all be happy but if he gets the job he gets my support until hirst and palmer join the coaching staff and racist Ron becomes director of football. . . At which point I give up

If it is Wilson then it is inevitable that he will not be given the chance to succeed judging by the comments already posted elsewhere on this forum. Whoever is appointed will get my backing from the off and this will continue based on performances and results not on who he used to play for.

We have shown that we are accepting of those that have played with the devil so to speak as I have mentioned in another post; Bradshaw, Geary, Bromby, Quinn, Creswell etc all showed the effort to be accepted as Blades and Wilson, if it is him, should be given the same chance.

It really does make me cringe with embarrassment to see United fans looking to protest with such vitriol at a managerial appointment. It does raise the question however that shouldn’t McCabe have seen this coming?

Suppose he did but is sure that Wilson is the right man for the job? Should he do the right thing (as he sees it) or retreat like a coward?

I used to think McCabe was unlike most chairmen in that he stuck by his men for the long term. But these days he's getting ever more random in his decision making.

I understand the Wilson appointment in many ways and I hope it succeeds. But it is also slightly bananas at the same time. The rollercoaster just rolls on I guess...

he was sucking up to NW after the 3-3 away at Bury, that only turned out to be the right appointment after 8 years.... the man has no clue - anyways by all accounts the interviews were done by chris steer and simon mccabe whose previous bramall lane experience is running the fucking white elephant in the corner. my question is why is anyone surprised? ohhhh RDM text me about the job already he said the other week. typical mccabe bollocks.

Get behind him...

if we all push together we can heave the piggy twat back to swillsborough!

Some may want to read this off of a Swindon Town fan from their board.

When he joined us we were warned by his previous club that he has one good season then it all goes pear shaped-which it did.

In his defence we lost at least three decent players at the start of this season and they weren't adequately replaced. it's not clear how much this was down to Wilson or our Board. Whoever was to blame it's fact that Wilson signed some poor players last season on loan and permanents - most have already gone or aren't being retained next season.

The other thing is that last season Wilson never seemed to have a plan B in matches that weren't going our way. I think us fans would have given him credit if he seemed to be trying something different - but he just didn't. His post match interviews towards the end were pathetic and the fans picked up on this.

Good luck whoever you appoint

And a follow on post.

I am really shocked that Wilson is even being considered for Sheffield United??? I agree with everything callumbustop has said, we are so glad to see the back off him! If you do take him as your manager then expect 4th division football the season after next!

Yawn.

Still no takers for giving their season tickets away. Protests and refunds my arse.

Your wanting someone to hand over a ticket they've stumped hard cash over for, I suspect most will give them back if they can have a full refund not for a loss of 300+ smackers though.

I'm sorry you can't afford one, I've been there and almost was again this year.

I'll give him a chance. Will people be against him if we were in top two come February time?

It has nothing to do with him being a Pig in my book. He isn't the right man and we have gone down the road of employing shite once more. Bollocks to who he used to play for look at the mans track record.

Fact is we can and should be attracting better managers even in our state. What was the point in sacking Adams when you have nothing better lined up? Bollocks to "get behind him". You might like being shafted up the shitter time after time, I don't.

For vitriol, see the previous posts from the Swindon forum.

McCabe seen it coming? Like he saw the downturn in the property market? Like he lied about Beattie being 'ill'? Like when he mentioned di Matteo, built the fans up and then appointed a journeyman serial failure? And if reports are to believed, we will get Frank Barlow as assistant. Another Sam Ellis-type job for the boys. Why not just dig Dooley up and have done with it?
