Depends if it’s on loan then he’s genuine competition to push wes for a year and if Wes keeps the shirt then he’ll have to have maintained a very high standard of play which can only be good for us.Honestly do not see why we need a new number 1 when Wes seems to be playing so well
i think if we're in the championship then why not have him as 2nd fiddle, but if we're in the PL i'd hope we wouldn't go for this as one of our 2x PL loans. If it's a permanent then snap their hands off, no chance though unfortunately!Depends if it’s on loan then he’s genuine competition to push wes for a year and if Wes keeps the shirt then he’ll have to have maintained a very high standard of play which can only be good for us.
If he’s shockingly available on a permanent he’s a very talented young goalkeeper and we’d be mad to pass up bringing that kind of keeper into the club even if he doesn’t take the number one short year one he’d be a great asset to have in the pipeline.
For how well he’s done this year Wes does have his deficiencies especially with the ball at his feet he got away with a few mistakes today that a better side would’ve ruthlessly punished us for that said he’s been a great shot stopper this year.
Not sure how it would benefit City to loan him somewhere he isn't a starter....Depends if it’s on loan then he’s genuine competition to push wes for a year and if Wes keeps the shirt then he’ll have to have maintained a very high standard of play which can only be good for us.

I don’t know with city maybe they operate a must start approach contractually maybe they don’t. I’d imagine united would say he has every chance to start but he’ll have to earn it if he does he’s better than Wes if he doesn’t then I’d imagine city would recall him but we’d at least have given ourselves a chance at an upgrade. Not sure how it would benefit City to loan him somewhere he isn't a starter....
Standing still right now with regards to GK options would be disastrous. Wes has done very well but he’s not our long-term number 1 and we need competition that’s as good or better than him.Honestly do not see why we need a new number 1 when Wes seems to be playing so well
I agree but we have positions that require improvement more so than the keepers.Standing still right now with regards to GK options would be disastrous. Wes has done very well but he’s not our long-term number 1 and we need competition that’s as good or better than him.
Things have to keep progressing. Simon Moore made the L1 team of the season when we went up but we still added depth with Blackman and later Henderson who both dispossessed him.
Excellent management of the GK position is pivotal for any successful team. CW got it spot on for the most part.
It would be extremely naive to take the “Wes is doing ok - leave that area alone” attitude.
Spoken like a proper Blade,Honestly do not see why we need a new number 1 when Wes seems to be playing so well
Yeah I thought about Henderson and while he's not yet a 'loan out then sell' example, he certainly hasn't made it.Except of course in the case of Dean Henderson.
I disagree. Come the end of the season we’ll only have Clean One Wes. Adam Davies’ deal will be up and after that it’s Jake Eastwood. That position is very much a priority in my opinion.I agree but we have positions that require improvement more so than the keepers.
A limited amount of money ( assuming no capital injection) has to be spent in more important areas
Might be worth monitoring him in the event we went up.Except of course in the case of Dean Henderson.
Cash in on L1Wes whlie he’s the Championships hot property and #1 keeper. £30m to Everton when they get relegated and Pickford decides hes too big for championship.Honestly do not see why we need a new number 1 when Wes seems to be playing so well
Very good signing for them. I thought they might go for Hendo.
Surprised to see City sell him:
Literally the post above the one you've replied to shows him signing for "them""Them" is Southampton for anyone not blessed with mind-reading skills....
Not if you have the person who posted it on ignore....Literally the post above the one you've replied to shows him signing for "them"![]()
