Maybe he wasn't keen to promise something that he may not think he can do as soon as we want him to. If he doesn't promise it and then it does happen then we are all the more impressed and happy with him, whereas if is states the style will be completely altered by Sunday and it isn't then he will seen to to have failed on his first real test. Lets judge him on what he does rather than what he says at the moment.

Possibly, also difficult for him to thank Blackwell and say what a good job he did etc and then in the next breath say 'yep, you're absolutely right the football has been awful and I intend to improve it immediately!!'

'Stamping his own personality on the team' is about as strong as he could realistically be and I think it bodes well.

Our future style of play is very much on the agenda today. It is perfectly clear that GS has been told to change it. This is a welcome, if long overdue development.

It is fair to point out, as repeatedly as necessary, that we cannot move to a more aesthetically pleasing style with two such mediocre non-footballers in our ranks.

You have your standards; I have mine.

Absolutely, and as others have said he's not going to come out and talk too much about a change of style 1) because it's disrespectful to the previous regime (deserved or not and remembering he was part of it) and 2) he doesn't want to build false hopes of an immediate change to free-flowing attacking football.

He did say that he's already worked on 'one or two things' yesterday though :)

If Foxy got his finger out and gave us our thanks button back then we could all thanks him en masse. Alas, he's far too busy putting his pants in order of cartoon hero importance.

I read a lot here but post very little. However must say many thanks for the exclusive. A new manager always brings a new start. None of us expected Martin O'Neill but what we have got is a young enthusiastic manager with a winning mentality. There's only so much influence an assistant can have however good he is so I think it would be a mistake to assume that nothing much is going to change. I'm optimistic ... for now

Cheers Foxy & Linz, you always seem to go the extra mile. God knows how you to are still together, bearing in mind all the work you do and hold down jobs. Must be a lot of stress. Perhaps you have a secret formulae? Can you bottle it and send me some?

It's the pants Mick. Chuck out your brushed nylon y-fronts and get some Bananaman boxers! :D

No worries chaps... if the club give us access, this is the kind of stuff we can produce.

On that note, 9 whole years tomorrow.

What's the average time served for a life sentence these days? ;)
