A bit of a sideshow to yesterday's dirge, but.... Did my ears deceive me, or did Gary Sinclair announce Marlon King's substitution with a tone of utter contempt?

When the flip did he become our moral arbiter? He's nothing more than a cheap DJ and a pretty embarrassing one at that.

That's not to defend King for a moment - it's just yet another occasion I wished Sinclair would wind his neck in.

:(

I wish he'd introduced him as Marlon Cunt to be honest.

I prefer it that Sinclair has a little bit of personality and reflects what we're thinking...

But he also sounds very pissed off when doing that 'text in the MOTM award' money earner too. That has to be the naffest idea United have ever had. Were people booing the players because they thought there wasn't a MOTM, or just the so called money spinner?

I think it's due to the fact they're trying to squeeze every available penny out of the fans when most of us don't have two bob to rub together at the moment.

I'd hope the latter. I'm no Garyoke fan, but he sounded very embarassed at having to plug it.

I despair at the thought of anyone assuming he represents me...

So you weren't thinking the same when King came on....?

Personally i would've just announced the lad coming off for Cov, then announced HMP Number xxxxxx

To be fair to the guy it is a bit embarrassing having to announce a m-o-m after that. I think he plays up to his cronies a bit who he banters with during the game. He will love his name up in lights though!!

If he thinks King is a cunt, which lets face it, he is, he's entitled to reflect that. The fact that he didn't openly call him a cunt showed great restraint.

How anyone convicted of sexual assualt and ABH can play football professionally is beyond me.

By serving his sentence and leaving prison.

In truth I was interested in the Coventry fans' reaction to him. I don't want to know what Sinclair thinks - that was an abuse of his position.

My own thoughts about King are that he's a repeat offender who's lucky enough to have a talent that makes him employable. I've no clue as to whether he's a reformed character or whether Coventry are simply desperate enough to employ someone regardless of their nature. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

I've watched Sinclair contribute to the decline in match day atmosphere at the Lane with his brand of 'entertainment'. I've also heard him give a shout to 'The Boys in H-Block' when that part of the ground was a problem.

He's an embarrassment with the moral authority of a court jester.

I actually like Gary Sinclair, its nice to have someone who's a bit passionate and isn't afraid to make jibes. Its a lot better than having a boring twat on the microphone like him at Liverpool.

Piping the GCB song before each half. The risible sing-a-long lyrics on the big screen.

He's partly to blame for turning is into passive consumers and stifling the genuine fan culture and atmosphere.

Room 101 please!

When ever someone else does it ,you long for Gary Sinclair. I think he is pretty good.

The guy is a bit of a prick, but at least he has some charisma. Whenever that other guy fills in for him it's cringeworthy...

That a team would sign him after that is disgusting, to be honest.

I do not condone what King did, but he was punished for it and served his time. Until we pass a law branding ex cons with the Mark of Cain and denying them employment rights, I don't see why he should be denied the chance to play if anyone wants to sign him.

Completely agree with this. He's a twat but I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be allowed to play football. It's be like me or you getting banged up and then when we've served our time, being told we're not allowed to work, ever.

I was quite embarrassed by the way some of our fans kicked off about the whole situation too be honest, i heard people calling him a rapist and a paedophile.

The man has to earn a living, and nobody is entitled to stop him from doing so. it just stinks a little that the way he earns a living happens to be football where you get paid alot of money, and the majority of us dont earn anywhere near what he earns in a week over a year. he's not trying to claim he's a saint, he clearly isnt.

i bet he'd do a job for us.

He's exactly the sort of player Warnock would have gone for ten years ago. And to be honest, if he's still the player he was at Watford, he's way better than anything we have.

I don't like Garyoke (gotta say i lol'd at that word!) but you're deluded if you really believe it's him coming up with these retarded ideas! Sure he's a cringeworthy prick at times but i agree with the person who said "i'd rather have someone with passion rather than the fella at liverpool!"

Besides - the way we're playing lately - its nice that someone has some passion...maybe he could pass that one to some players!

That reminds me, in the midweek game against Coventry the Forest fans sang this to King to the tune of kumbaya:

She said no Marlon
She said no
Oh Marlon she said no

:D

Re. Sinclair, I watched MoTD and the 'Football League Show' (where was Lizzie? Has she gone back to Playschool?) last night and was both surprised and appalled by how many teams still play Tom Harke after a goal.

What made it even worse was that the assorted DJs hadn't cued it up and it usually came in pitifully late. In this internet age, is it acceptable that football clubs employ these Smashy & Nicey types?

Well done Blades!
