Don't know if it was the same incident, but Clough commented in his interview that some fan 10 rows back behind the dug out was having a go because they subbed Coutts for Freeman. Clough went on to say, Coutts had a groin problem and that's why he came off. Also said that's why the fans sit in the stand and the management team make the decisions in the technical area (sic)

Heard the directors got into a dispute too? (not sure if with each other or with fans)

And I agree with NC 100%

There are some right bozos that sit near me

Management are having a good period at the moment. Some of the idiot fans need to get behind the team and off of tbeir backs.

What seemed like a defensive move was not. Freeman has some pace, had fresh legs and Coutts was carrying an injury, hopefully not too serious.

Clough knows Freeman's versatility and used it well.

Personally, until Flynn is fit, I would like to see Davies on the Right as he has a better understanding with Brayford, can cross the ball, score a few goals and take better set pieces.

Agree ,neither did I or anyone around me,and that proves why the likes of me are in the stands and Clough is the manager ,it hanged the game and got us a point from nowhere.

Was begging for che adams to replace courts 15 minutes before when coutts ass did blow off.

Not one fan agreed with the sub or if you did, you forgot to clap. Just saying

I expected it to happen aand therefore wasn't as annoyed as most around me. He used Freeman similarly for a few mins at County... He was always going to be an improvement on a lethargic and injured Coutts.

Is it right that one of our directors or one of their guests has smacked one of the Coventry directors? That's what I've just been texted by my cousin who sits in the South Stand, apparently Jim Phipps got involved and dragged one of the blokes down the directors entrance?

Sounds artistic licence to me. Think the argument Linz saw was between two Blades in the directors box and no violence involved. Jim and Mal came to speak to people I think.

Out of all the tactical changes and substitutions, I thought that Freeman coming on was the game changer for us. He made a terrific impact.
Yes, Freeman was the turning point. He brought a bit of aggression to the right flank instead of the passive Coutts who doesn't look like a man who enjoys a battle ( a luxury player?).
I quite like Freeman, underrated by many but a man for all seasons IMO.

I wonder why he persevered with Coutts for so long given his lack of contribution and injury?

I thought he was a passenger on Tuesday too, certainly on the right wing.

I clapped. Coutts was woeful, as he was the other night. Let's hope the injury explains it.

Bit harsh Alcs. He's not really a wide player and did much better when moved inside at County. He did look lethargic today and played as though he was carrying an injury. All in all, I like what I've seen from him: very comfortable on the ball, plays with his head up and rarely gives the ball away. I reckon he'll be a player for us.

Isn't football great? :)

I'd say he's been pants and was really worried we'd bought a dud. I'd passed it off as lack of first team football until Clough mentioned the injury.

Still begs the question as to why play him if he's injured.

I presume Holt was injured and Coutts said he was fit enough to play so they took the risk. I like the look of him as a player even if he hasn't really got going yet.

Based on what John? What am I missing?

I should add I've seen loads of slow starts turn in to great players. Just look at Murphy.

There's plenty of time before we can really judge, but I'm not sure of one strong attribute that he's shown so far?

Coutts is a very good player . We knock our own , too much imo.

You're missing my keen eye and rugged good looks. :)

As for Coutts, he has physical presence and looks assured on the ball. Lots more to come I reckon. And that's not just me being a clapper - I'll happily debate the value of Baxter to United, and my belief that Basham and JMac aren't a proper centre half partnership (despite their various qualities).

Someones annoying kid near me said that he (presumably clough) needs sacking before leaving about 15 mins early. Now it sounds like he needed sacking... American football style

As I have to be selective about matches I attend due to work commitments, this sums up why I prefer a long journey to an away match than a trip to the Lane and attend matches accordingly when able.

I'm not saying everyone at home matches moans, and everyone is super positive away from home, but there is a big difference a lot of the time.

Why do I so want this to be true?

Think people are less likely to travel long distances purely to moan, still hear people talking plenty of rubbish away mind. The most noise a lot of our fans make (at home) is when there's a mistake/keeping the ball.
