Here's the article for those who can't see the original.

Sean O'Driscoll, Gareth Southgate and Micky Adams are the frontrunners for the managerial vacancy at Sheffield United.
Southgate, out of work since being sacked by Middlesbrough, is a close friend of United chairman Kevin McCabe but could be considered too expensive, given the financial constraints at Bramall Lane.
Lifelong Blades fan Adams, who has again delivered results on a shoestring budget at Port Vale, is also in the frame for the post vacated by new Wales boss Gary Speed.
O'Driscoll is a serious contender after proving his worth at Doncaster. A £1million compensation demand could prove a stumbling block, but O'Driscoll said: 'If I felt it was the right opportunity, I would have to consider it.'

Thats a decent short list IMO.

Can't see past Micky Adams being offered the job.

Gareth Southgate I would imagine, might price himself out of the job and to be honest, I don't really want him here.

Would love Sean O'Driscoll but doubt we have the financial muscle to pay the compo or indeed promise money for him to bring his own men in. I think he'll hold out for a bigger/better position.

The Mail and the Mirror seem to have pretty decent info on us normally. I wouldn't have a problem with that shortlist. I really think Southgate will become a top manager, just not sure we are in the right place for it to be with us. He had a great academy at Boro and had no problem bringing them through.

Didn't you know that you're the scum of the earth if you read the Mail? :D

Nah you just need to have your "I'm not racist, I have a black friend" membership card ready to be pulled out if anyone picks up on your nationalist leaning opinions.

I take the Mail daily, but I do have the NOTW Sundays. Mind you that has fat boy Sam in it so I'm stuffed both ways. :(

Southgate had a great record bringing kids into the team at Boro and that certainly seems to be high on the agenda as far as Birch is concerned, no problems with SO'D on that score either. Not sure why Southgate would price himself out of a job, it's not as if he's been fending off offer after offer. To me, nothing's changed, SO'D if he wants it, Adams if he doesn't.

But would Southgate galvanise the Blades like the other two would?

Might do but can we afford him?

Getting him may well strip him of any funds that McC may muster to strengthen?
