Basically. We took our foot off the pedal after the second goal and made hard work of it unnecessarily because Stoke offered nothing up until their somewhat fortunate goal back on the stroke of half-time. With about 15 mins left we seemed to have settled for holding onto the win and invited Stoke pressure. Until Bogle made and scored the clincher. I called him for motm before his second and our third goal as he played with the most energy and enthusiasm.

The problem is our (the fans) lack of confidence with a 1-goal lead. Stoke fans will probably say they would’ve not scored even if they were still playing now but, for some reason, us fans will always be nail biting when United have just a 1-goal lead. You can smell it amongst the Lane faithful like a Boxing Day kop trump.

There change at half time to go 3 at the back was effective in nullifying Lowe on the left and the switch through Norwood from left to right and vice versa But it hardly made them more effective in going forward
