Gallacher and Diego

I think McNulty has seemed off form of late, while Diego looked positive and enthusiastic when he came on vs Preston. I'd have Diego on the bench tomorrow. I would also like the club to give him another contract offer, leave it on the table, then tell him it's up to him to keep his place in the squad.

Once he's settled I think Adams is going to be a better prospect up front than McNulty ever was, and I can't help thinking there's a lot more to the Diego thing than meets the eye....

He's playing regularly for Italy's U-20's as an U-19.
FFS it ain't just paper talk.
If we got and England U-20 on loan from another club (yes mighty international team England!) what would people think?
Shit what have we signed him for? Or thank God we've got a goalscorer in?
FFS give the lad a chance, Clough has history!

I know. I mean he scored better than a goal a game in league 2 and got picked every week didn't he?

Didn't he?

Oh.

Wrong. Even Clough said last week "It's not about money".

They agreed to sell him before but said "stay and you will get more games here".
He didn't/hasn't so that's what it's all about.

Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.

He just wants to play - somewhere!
He's waiting to see if he ever gets a look in.

That's why Whitehouse left. No chance of a game here ever!
MacFadzean's the same.
Talks on a new contract - to 30 minutes under Clough.
whitehouses contract wasnt renewed in the summer in other words he was released and macfadzean will go the same way as he has not progressed as it was hoped he would. most acadamy players get released as they dont make the progress required.Occasionally clubs get this wrong and the players make it elswhere uniteds record is quite good really as our failures usually dont make it big elswhere ,Macfadzean the elder who we released has done well but he is a rare mistake.

When Gallacher played for us he was about a stone heavier and didn't show any spark or energy. Yes he had class and composure but little else. When I saw him at Bramall Lane in the league match I didn't recognise the slimmed down bloke with the positive, upbeat body language.

Different man, different managers. Still on loan, still available last month presumably. where were you Simon?
gallagher was sufferinga bereavment when we had him on loan lost a son and was struggling to come to terms with it.
He now seems to have come to terms with that as he has refound his enthuseasm for the game good technical player
who is excellent with deadball kicks as we have found to our cost.

Well you did as below.

Seems you have changed your mind this morning. Good on yer for admitting Clough is good at bringing youngsters through.

Also who are these four players at United Cloughie gas frozen out to the massive detriment of the team?

If you could please show anywhere in my 142 posts I've ever criticised Clough for not bringing youngsters through I'd be delighted to see it.
Likewise where have I said anything about anyone being frozen out'' to the massive detriment of the team''

I really cant be bothered answering more of your posts as you seem to add on and invent things I've never ever said.

There's something gone off in the background to Butler, Porter, DDG, Collins and McGinn.

If all he wants is more game time, you have to ask yourself why he's not getting it. He obviously has talent and Reed and Kennedy have had quite a few games.

He obviously has the wrong attitude or he'd be getting picked.

If it's about money, then let him go.

If he wants to stay, he needs to make it clear he wants to play for us and stop sulking. If he doesn't, I'm sure we'll cope.

I quoted you already on that but again you stated:

"A few blades have seen through the Clough gives all youngsters a chance bollocks."

Pretty unequivocal.

You have said Clough supposedly freezing out players and not changing his mind is a bad thing, and quoted a Derby fan saying he bites his nose to spite his face. That clearly indicates that you think these players he has 'frozen out' are at a detriment to the team. Or your quote makes no sense?

Butler was awful in the games he played and Walsall didn't take him back again.

Collins has not been good enough for two years and has come out to say there has been no fall out.

Porter and McGinn clearly were not good enough, McGinn has said he was told he wouldn't get a game so get another club, don't see anything wrong with that?

As for DDG, a young kid who did ok on loan at a league 2 club following a major injury, what more do you think we should do for him?

So of those five, who would you play and who instead of?

As a striker he scored 4 in 7 starts for York, and 1 in 1 start for us. Most would say it's a promising record for a young lad.

It's promising yes, but he was awful for us in the two starts he got in between loan spells. He was substituted in most games at York and was benched on three occasions.

Promising yes.

Enough to have our fans throwing every toy out of the pram and painting Clough as some Diego hating pariah because he isn't starting him in league games?
Nah.

Again lots of professionals love playing for Clough. Senior pro's have told Diego to listen to Clough.

I would suggest if there ia any problem it is not with Clough.

Does anyone think for one minute that if he was good enough the Manager wouldn't play him? What level of idiot would you have to be to not play your best players? Theres a reason Clough doesn't play him and its because he isn't good enough to start regular in the managers estimation. I am guessing Clough will get reports from other coaches within the club as well. There could be many reasons Clough doesn't start him but I am guessing it isn't because Diego is too good.

You would think we had Messi on our books the way some go on about him. As for he plays for Italy U19 and U20. Wayne Quinn played England U21 and was once one to watch. Jose Baxter was one to watch as well. Usually these players end up plying their trade in League One and below.

I know some wish to think they know better than Clough, Morgan and the coaches but really, you don't.

Can anyone with the relevant qualifications in ITK - somewhere between Key Stage 3 and Advanced Certificate I'm thinking - get Diego Jordan Slew's phone number? That should sort it.

Oh come on, yeah I agree we could probably afford Diego some more game time but there's really no mystery behind the departures of Porter and McGinn.

Paul Gallagher is a player we should have brough back to the club.

Even if unfit he can deliver from set peices which few of our lads can do.

Perhaps you'd like to share the reason why Porter was offered a years contract for his one and only game, a JPT appearance.

Backup. Sometimes they are used, sometimes not. Do you think he was unjustly dropped from the starting line-up as far as perfomances are concerned?

See, this is why you are accused of having an agenda. You needn't look beyond the fact that Porter is lower in standard than nearly all of the attacking options at the club.

Really, Back up?
Back up for who?
Did we sign a striker, before he was released?

I'm not buying that one at all.
You'll have to do better than that, mate.

The Porter extension and subsequent freezing out is just one of the numerous great NC mysteries of the season.
